    Abstract: Polyurethane resins with an excellent weather resistance are provided by the reaction of polyols with trifunctional isocyanates which are expressed by the following general formula: (R = a remnant of divalent hydrocarbon group with the carbon number of 2 or 3) The reaction between a polyol and a trifunctional isocyanate is effectuated at an NCO/OH mole percentage of 0.5 to 2.0 and adjustments are made so that the concentration of carbamide group will be 5 x 10-4 to 50 x 10-4 moles per gram of the reaction product and that the bridging parameter will be 150 to 1,500. The resins may be used to best advantage as polyurethane resin coatings excelling in weather resistance.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a lens excellent in release property and having good appearance grade even in a case based on a vinyl monomer containing an aromatic ring as an injection monomer liquid, by coating the surface of a glass mold with an organosilicon compound. CONSTITUTION:As an embodiment of an organosilicon compound used in apply ing coating treatment to the surface of a glass mold, there are an organosilane compound dimethylpolysiloxane having 1-100 repeating units or methylhydrogen polysiloxane having 1-100 repeating units, an organosilazane compound represented by hexamethylsilazane or modified silicone oil. The film thickness of the organosilicon compound layer used in applying coating treatment to the surface of the glass mold is pref. 0.1mum or more and, if said thickness thin ner than 0.1mum, the effect of this invention is not sufficient. There is no special limit in a thicker side but, with due regard to coating workability, about 30mum or less is pref.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a good plastic lens free from optical distortion by a method wherein an adhesive tape obtained by laminating an adhesive agent to a specific plastic film base material is stuck close to the sides of two molds and a polymerizable substance is cast into the mold formed by surrounding with the two molds and adhesive tape for polymerization. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive tape obtained by laminating an adhesive agent to a plastic film base material whose permeability factor to oxygen and that to vapor do not exceed respectively 15cc/m .24hr.0.1mm and 10g/m .24hr.0.1mm is stuck close to the sides of two molds positioned at a fixed interval. A polymerizable substance is polymerized by casting the same into a mold formed by surrounding with the two molds and adhesive tape and the plastic lens is manufactured. Polyvinylidene fluoride or its polymer or an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is available as a plastic film satisfying important matters of this oxygen and permeability to the vapor. Generally a range of 10-100mum is good for a suitable thickness of the plastic film base material.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the striae of a lens and to provide the optically uniform lens by using a polymer contg. specific siloxane compds. CONSTITUTION:This plastic lens is formed of the polymer having >=1.50 refractive index and crosslinked structure. The polymer contains >=1 kinds among the siloxane compds. expressed by formulas I and II. In formulas, R1 denotes alkyl of 1-3C, phenyl, etc.; R2 denotes trimethyl sillyl; (n) denotes 1-10; (m) denotes 3-8. The polymer is preferably a radially polymerizable multifunctional vinyl monomer contg. an arom. ring. The lens is formed by pouring a liquid admixture contg. the above-mentioned monomer, a prescribed ratio of the compds. expressed by formulas and polymn. initiator, etc., into a mold.
