    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain artificial lawn excellent for water permeability, cushioning ability, electrostatic property and flexibility by filling fine sand soil containing a predetermined percentage of granular material containing fused slag from incineration ash into the lawn blades of artificial lawn laid on an athletic field or the like. SOLUTION: At least one selected from fused slag of sludge, iron and steel and incineration ash of various wastes is used, and a granular substance with a mean grain size of 0.15 to 1.70 mm is formed by air cooling or water cooling. This granular substance is mixed with ordinary sand (fine sand soil) in the range of 10 to 70 wt.% and is filled in the seams of artificial lawns. Also, the weeding effect can be enhanced by giving a water repellent compound consisting of a silicone-based compound or fluorine-based compound to the sand. In addition, a hardener or cross linking agent may be added to the above. In this way, artificial lawn structural bodies and athletic fields having excellent weeding effect and mobility without breeding of fungi can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an artificial lawn remarkably improved in rolling properties in comparison with the conventional tufted artificial lawn and capable of remarkably saving works required for collecting balls in a golf practice range and to provide its production method. CONSTITUTION:This invented artificial lawn is characterized by its leveled pile surface of a tufted artificial lawn composed of loop piles. The method for production of this artificial lawn is characteristically carried out by raising the temperature of the piles of a tufted artificial lawn composed of loop piles to >=glass transition temperature and subsequently compressing the piles so as to level them. In the golf practice range, the tufted artificial lawn composed of loop piles and having a leveled pile surface is characteristically laid at least on each slope.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To maintain both elasticity and durability by specifying the length of the projected part of a specified monofilament pile from sand, occupied rate of cross section of it, and pile surface covering property obtained when it is pressed by a flat plate. CONSTITUTION: The fineness of nylon pile monofilament is set at 100 to 350 denier, and the average length of a projected part is set at 8mm or longer. Also the occupied space rate of the pile cross section on the flat surface of an artificial lawn is set at 4 to 8%. In this case, the occupied space rate in % is set at W/100.H.ρ, provided that W in the equation is pile weight per 1m , H is pile length, and ρ is specific gravity of pile. Then the surface force covering property of pile obtained when a load of 100g per cm is applied to press the artificial lawn from the top side is set at 70% or more. In addition, the rate of the maximum width to the minimum width of cross section of the monofilament is set at 3 or more. Thus soft feeling and an elasticity needed for sports are given so as to maintain durability.
