A control device is used to move a pick-up tmck tailgate. Tue control device comprises a first gear arrangement connected to a drive cup and a second gear arrangement that is connected to a motor for driving the second gear arrangement. Tue control device also includes a clutch arrangement positioned between the first and second gear arrangements. When the clutch arrangement is in an engaged position, it couples the first gear arrangement and the second gear arrangement to transmit torque to the first gear ar- rangement and the drive cup. When the clutch arrange- ment is in the disengaged position, the first and second gear arrangements are not coupled. Optionally, the control device comprises a brake unit to slow or stop movement of the tailgate. The control device can be positioned within the pick-up truck tailgate

The invention relates to a door check for a vehicle door, comprising a retaining bar (20) which can be connected to one of the two door assembly parts, i.e. the door (8) or the door frame (6), and a retaining housing (13) which can be connected to the other door assembly part. In order to design a door check that allows a vehicle door to be reliably and safely blocked in an automated manner, a threaded bar (50) can be accommodated in an axially movable fashion in a cavity of the retaining bar (20).

The invention relates to a hinge (4) for furniture or domestic appliances, comprising a lateral part (5) on which a hinge part (7) is pivotally mounted via two levers (8, 9). A damping device (10) is provided having a movable damping element (20) which is mounted in a movable manner between guide elements (11, 30) for damping purposes and which can be moved via a first actuation element (51) during a closing movement of the hinge (4) before reaching the closed position. A second actuation element (52) is provided which pushes the damping element (20) during an opening movement of the hinge (4) before reaching the maximum opening position for damping an opening process. In this manner, the hinge (4) provides an opening as well as a closing damping function.

A hinge assembly is provided in the form of a toggle type hinge, with an arm assembly (11) anchorable in use to a first member and a cup flange (13) pivotally connected thereto and anchorable in use to a second member. The assembly includes a linear damping device (15) and a mechanism for converting pivotal movement of the hinge into actuation of the damping device, at least over part of the range of this pivotal movement. The movement converting mechanism is arranged to produce the actuation of the damping device (15) through rotational movement about its linear axis via transmission of at least two equal and opposite forces acting symmetrically about this axis.

A rotor (130) rotatably disposed within the at least one interior chamber includes at least one rotor vane (134) that moves in relation to a stationarily mounted stator (120) having at least one stator vane (124). A fill plug (140) includes a plurality of entrance and exit holes disposed in relation to the stator and rotor vanes (124, 134) to define a fluidic damper assembly. A valve (180) disposed within the fill plug (140) permits selective adjustment of the fluidic damper by restricting or opening the entrance and exit holes of the fill plug (140).
