Abstract:
A method of separating two substrates bonded with a redetachable, at least single-sidedly pressure-sensitive adhesive strip composed at least of a) a core layer which has a breaking extension of at least 300%, b) an outer carrier layer which has a breaking extension of not more than 120% and which at least sectionally is connected to the core layer such that it separates from the core layer when the latter is extensionally stretched, and c) a first adhesive layer which is applied at least sectionally to the side of the outer carrier layer that is opposite the side connected to the core layer, in which the core layer is stretched in the direction of the bond plane, starting from a region which has been made nonadhesive, until the core layer releases from at least one of the outer carrier layers so that the two substrates are separated from one another.
Abstract:
Multi-layer protective sheets of the invention are useful in a range of indoor and outdoor applications in, for example, the transportation, architectural and sporting goods industries. In one embodiment, a multi-layer protective sheet comprises sequential layers as follows: optionally, a topcoat layer; a carrier layer; a resilient layer; and an adhesive layer. Protective sheets of the invention are advantageously not only capable of protecting a surface, but also capable of being more cleanly removed therefrom than conventional protective sheets without resilient layers between the carrier layer and adhesive layer therein.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Provided are double-coated tapes that include, in the following order: a first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer; a first plastic skin layer; an elastic base layer; a second plastic skin layer; and a second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The provided double-coated adhesive tapes can provide a combination of high bond strength, reworkability, and high impact and shock resistance, and can be easily converted using a die cutting process.
Abstract:
A multi-layer surface covering includes at least a first and a second layer made of a polyvinyl chloride material, each of the two layers having a different density. One of the two layers includes a pigment such that the layer resembles teak. A surface of the colored layer is at least partly abraded to resemble a wood grain. The surface covering may additionally include grooves cut into the surface to resemble individual wood planks. The grooves additionally provide traction and drainage of liquid from the surface to an edge of the covering.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of making a three-layer aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) surface protection composite. The method involves extruding an aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) layer onto a substrate layer at the flat die extrusion nip comprising a rubber roller in the back position and a polished steel roller in the front position; cooling the extruded aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethane; feeding the two-layer thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) composite film into a downstream nip comprising at least one rubber roller; and laminating a flexible polymer interleaf film onto the exposed thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) side of the two-layer composite under pressure in that nip. The surface protection composite of the present invention may be included in a variety of products for use in automotive, electronics or furniture applications
Abstract:
A base film (2) includes an expandable layer (B) laminated on a cutting-fragment suppression layer (A) and having a laminate structure of a plurality of resin-based sublayers. The resin-based sublayer (B1) disposed nearest to the cutting-fragment suppression layer (A) has a stress-relaxation rate (R1) after 5 minutes of 10%-stretching. The resin-based sublayer (B2) other than the resin-based sublayer (B1) disposed nearest to the cutting-fragment suppression layer (A) has a stress-relaxation rate (R2) after 5 minutes of 10%-stretching. The cutting-fragment suppression layer (A) contains a ring-containing resin (a1) that is a thermoplastic resin having at least one type of an aromatic series-based ring and an aliphatic series-based ring and an acyclic olefin-based resin (a2) that is an olefin-based thermoplastic resin other than the ring-containing resin (a1).
Abstract:
[Problem] This is to provide an adhesive sheet having curved surface followability and chemical resistance.[Means for solving] The adhesive sheet is an adhesive sheet having at least a substrate and an adhesive layer, a load at the time of 5% elongation of the substrate is 15 N/cm or less, a stress relaxation rate of the substrate by elongating to 10%, stopping the elongation at that state and after lapsing 600 seconds is 40% or more and 100% or less, and a chemical weight increased ratio of the substrate is 60% or less.
Abstract:
A polyethylene tape including a first backing layer, a second backing layer, a third backing layer, and an adhesive layer in sequence. The first and the third backing layers are transparent polyethylene films which sandwich the second backing layer therebetween. The second backing layer is a colored polyethylene film. The adhesive layer is acrylic glue coated on the third backing layer. The first and the third backing layers isolate the second backing layer from the adhesive layer even if the polyethylene tape is reeled up into a roll.
