Abstract:
This disclosure relates to a device to mechanically and electrically connect with a touch screen computing device, such as a tablet computer. The device can include a platform that can be moved into and out of physical contact with a surface of a touch screen. During engagement with the surface, the moveable platform electrically interacts with the touch screen (e.g., via capacitive coupling) to enable detection by the touch screen of contact members (e.g., pegs) even in the absence of user contact with the pegs.
Abstract:
An interferon beta polypeptide comprising interferon-beta 1a coupled to a polymer containing a polyalkylene glycol moiety wherein the interferon-beta-1a and the polyalkylene glycol moiety are arranged such that the interferon-beta-1a has an enhanced activity relative to another therapeutic form of interferon beta (interferon-beta-1b) and exhibits no decrease in activity as compared to non-conjugated interferon-beta-1a. The conjugates of the invention are usefully employed in therapeutic as well as non-therapeutic, e.g., diagnostic, applications.
Abstract:
Methods of treating neurological disorders, e.g., those characterized by demyelination and/or axonal loss (e.g., MS), are provided. The methods comprise administration of a therapeutically effective amount of at least one compound of Formula I: wherein R1 and R2 are independently selected from OH, O−, and (C1-6)alkoxy, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and either glatiramer acetate or interferon-beta.
Abstract:
Methods and compositions for treating lupus nephritis and muscle atrophy with anti-TWEAK antibodies are provided. Methods that include administering therapeutically effective amounts of anti-TWEAK antibodies to human subjects already receiving a standard treatment for lupus nephritis are also encompassed. Particularly useful dosages are provided.
Abstract:
The invention provides methods of treating diseases, disorders or injuries involving demyelination and dysmyelination, including multiple sclerosis, by the administration of a LINGO-4 antagonist.
Abstract:
The present invention provides chimeric proteins comprising a Factor VIII (FVIII) polypeptide and XTEN polypeptides. The FVIII polypeptide can have a reduced affinity for von Willebrand Factor (VWF). XTEN polypeptides of appropriate sizes are inserted into the FVIII polypeptide at particular locations in order to extend the half-life of the FVIII polypeptide. The invention also includes nucleotides, vectors, host cells, and methods of using the chimeric proteins, e.g., to treat bleeding diseases and disorders.
Abstract:
Disclosed are immunogenic Nogo receptor-1 polypeptides, Nogo receptor-1 antibodies, antigen-binding fragments thereof, soluble Nogo receptors and fusion proteins thereof and nucleic acids encoding the same. Also disclosed are Nogo receptor antagonist polynucleotides. Also disclosed are compositions comprising, and methods for making and using, such Nogo receptor antibodies, antigen-binding fragments thereof, soluble Nogo receptors and fusion proteins thereof, nucleic acids encoding the same and antagonist polynucleotides.
Abstract:
In one aspect, the disclosure provides a method of defining a Raman signature of a culture component, the method comprising: obtaining a Raman spectrum of a culture component in a non-interfering or minimally-interfering solution, identifying peaks in the Raman spectrum that are associated with the culture component, obtaining a Raman spectrum of a culture medium comprising the culture component, and, removing peaks of the culture component in the Raman spectrum of the culture medium that are distorted compared to the peaks identified in the Raman spectrum of the culture component in a non-interfering or minimally-interfering solution.
