Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a combined multi-source time difference of arrival (TDOA) tracking and voice activity detection (VAD) mechanism that is applicable for generic array geometries, e.g., a microphone array that lies on a plane. The combined multi-source TDOA tracking and VAD mechanism scans the azimuth and elevation angles of the microphone array in microphone pairs, based on which a planar locus of physically admissible TDOAs can be formed in the multi-dimensional TDOA space of multiple microphone pairs. In this way, the multi-dimensional TDOA tracking reduces the number of calculations that was usually involved in traditional TDOA by performing the TDOA search for each dimension separately.

Abstract: Systems and methods include a digital control module that receives and processes audio data for output through a loudspeaker. An analog block receives the audio data and the power control signal and amplifies the audio data for output. A first processing path includes a buffer to delay the audio data, a first component to combine the buffered audio data and anti-noise. A second processing path includes an absolute value block to receive the audio data and an envelope detector to receive the absolute value data and generate a maximum value for the envelope. An anti-noise path includes an absolute value block configured to determine an anti-noise absolute value which is combined with the absolute value anti-noise data. A power generator receives the output from the envelope detector and updates a power level to approximate a minimum powered needed to process the audio signal.

Abstract: An active noise cancellation system includes a sensor operable to sense environmental noise and generate a corresponding reference signal, a fixed noise cancellation filter including a predetermined model of the active noise cancellation system operable to generate an anti-noise signal, and a tunable noise cancellation filter operable to modify the anti-noise signal in accordance with stored coefficients, wherein the tunable noise cancellation filter is further operable to modify the stored coefficients in real-time based on user feedback and generate a tuned anti-noise signal that models tunable deviations from the predetermined noise model. A graphical user interface is operable to receive user adjustments of tunable parameters in real-time, the tunable parameters corresponding to at least one of the stored coefficients.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically rescanning an array of sensor electrodes of an input device. The input device performs a first scan of the array over a plurality of iterations to acquire a frame of sensor data, where a different subframe of the sensor data is acquired from each iteration of the first scan. During each iteration of the first scan, the input device compares the subframe of sensor data acquired from the iteration with a respective subframe of sensor data acquired prior to the iteration. In some implementations, the input device may selectively repeat one or more iterations of the first scan based on the comparison.

Abstract: An input device is disclosed that provides reduced electromagnetic emissions while detecting the presence of an input object. In one embodiment, a first set of sensor electrodes is driven with a first modulated signal while a second set of sensor electrodes is driven with a second set of modulated signals that is based on an inverted first modulated signal. The first set of sensor electrodes may determine a capacitance value while the second set of sensor electrodes may reduce electromagnetic emissions associated with the first set of sensor electrodes.

Abstract: An input device includes a biometric sensor and a processing system. The biometric sensor is configured to capture images of a sensing region of the input device. The processing system is further configured to determine an amount of similarity between the first image and the second image, and to validate the second image for user authentication when the amount of similarity between the first image and the second image is below a threshold level.

Abstract: Systems and methods for optical imaging are disclosed. An optical sensing system, including a display, an optical sensor, and a processor communicatively coupled to the display and the optical sensor is provided. The processor is configured to execute an input object image capture method. The method determines that an input object is proximate to an optical sensing region of the display, and in response to determining that an input object is proximate to the sensing region of the display, the optical sensing system illuminates the sensing region with an illumination sequence. The illumination sequence includes a cue mark sequence preceding an illumination pattern, where the cue mark sequence contains information about the illumination pattern.

Abstract: The invention relates to a processing system. The processing system includes a sensor module performing a first measurement to obtain a combination signal using a first sensor electrode and a second sensor electrode. The first electrode is driven using a first modulated signal with a first driving voltage amplitude and simultaneously the second electrode is driven using a second modulated signal with a second driving voltage amplitude greater than the first driving voltage amplitude, while simultaneously first and second resulting signals are received from the first and second electrodes, respectively. The sensor module is further performs a second measurement to obtain a transcapacitance signal using the first and second sensor electrodes. The processing system also includes a determination module that generates the combination signal by combining the first and second resulting signals, and computes an absolute capacitance signal from the combination signal, the transcapacitance signal, and a background capacitance.

In a multistage topology, a register is disposed between each stage and clocked to reduce ripple power.
