Abstract:
A device for assisting a caregiver in delivering therapy to a patient, the device comprising a user interface configured to deliver prompts to a caregiver to assist the caregiver in delivering therapy to a patient; at least one sensor configured to detect the caregiver's progress in delivering the therapy, wherein the sensor is other than an electrode in an electrical contact with the body; a memory in which a plurality of different prompts are stored; a processor configured to determine which of the different prompts should be selected for delivery based on the progress detected by the sensor.
Abstract:
Provided is an automatic head care device that can reliably care a person's rear head. The automatic head care device includes a rear-head care unit, the rear-head care unit including contact units, each unit having a rotation gear rotating a plurality of contacts around a central axis of the rotation gear, a third arm rotatably holding the contact units, a cylindrical rack held between the contact units to be movable in an axial direction of the cylindrical rack, the cylindrical rack moving in the axial direction to rotate the rotation gears in opposite directions, and a motor for oscillating the contacts of the contact units by moving the cylindrical rack.
Abstract:
A physical therapy and rehabilitation robot with an artificial intelligence for treating congenital or acquired joint, muscle, musculoskeletal system disorders and diseases affecting the locomotor system, minimizing the problems, handicaps or disabilities of the locomotor system, facilitating the daily life and minimizing dependence of a person on others for living, wherein it includes the following: a control panel, a head fastening element, a back fastening element, a leg-hip connection element, an arm exercise mechanism, an arm-shoulder connection mechanism and a leg exercise mechanism.
Abstract:
A spinal decompression machine includes a portable frame, a user support element, a laterally positioned handle extending from the frame, and a drive mechanism operatively coupled to the handle. A force bar operatively coupled to the drive mechanism extends longitudinally beyond a longitudinal end of the frame. A harness is attached to the first force bar. The drive mechanism causes the force bar to move longitudinally upon rotation of the handle. A method of providing traction includes positioning a person in a face up position upon the user support element, attaching a harness to a neck or pelvis of the person, the harness attached to a cervical traction bar or a pelvic traction bar, and moving the cervical fraction bar and pelvic fraction bar simultaneously in a common longitudinal direction by moving a handle.
Abstract:
A device for treating nasal congestion and/or relieving sinusitis symptoms in a patient comprises: means for generating vibrations, attaching means configured attach said generating means to a location adjacent to the patient's nasal cavity, nasal passageway or sinuses and means for generating a fluid stream and delivering the fluid stream to the respiratory tract of said patient. The vibration generating means further comprises a motor, an eccentric member rotatable by said motor and an impact member mechanically linked to the eccentric member such that the impact member is vibratable by the eccentric member.
Abstract:
The application is directed to devices and methods useful for expanding the range of motion of joints based on principles of stress relaxation and creep. Expanded range of motion is achieved by placing body parts near the joint in positions that stretch tissue around the joint. Even when the device is in any one position, it can impart forces on the body members to urge them to stretch surrounding tissue even further.
Abstract:
A method of rehabilitation using an actuator type that includes a movement mechanism capable of applying a force that interacts with a motion of a patient's limb in a volume of at least 30 cm in diameter, in at least three degrees of freedom of motion of the actuator and capable of preventing substantial motion in any point in any direction in said volume, in which a same movement mechanism is used at two different places of rehabilitation.
Abstract:
A logarithmically increasing decompression force is applied to a spinal column in a progressively changing direction lying in the mid-sagittal plane. This focuses the decompression force as compared with a straight-line pull. A table to achieve this decompression force has a fixed table section, a moveable table section, a reciprocating arm which acts as a movable pre-tension section, a vertically adjustable upstanding support supported by the pre-tension section, an attachment point attached to a tensionometer-head associated with the upstanding support for attachment to a harness, a moveable table section drive for extending the moveable table section from the fixed table section and for retracting the moveable table section toward the fixed table section, a reciprocating arm drive for extending and retracting the reciprocating arm from the movable table section, and an upstanding support drive for driving the upstanding support to different vertical positions.
Abstract:
There is provided a device for use with a patient. The device includes a first load line including an anchor attachment end and a first inline end. The anchor attachment end is sized and configured to be attachable in a terminating manner to an anchor object. The device further includes a second load line including a head attachment end and a second inline end. The head attachment end is sized and configured to attach to a head of the patient. The device further includes an elastomeric member disposed between and attached to the first and second inline ends. The elastomeric member has a significantly lower linear elastic modulus than each of the first and second load lines. The device further includes an adjustment element sized and configured to adjust the tension in an effective tension length of the device.
Abstract:
A sexual stimulator for oral sex is disclosed that includes a body and a motor. The body forms a clipping structure which can be clipped onto and worn on a mouth such that a fore part of the body is snug inside a wall of the mouth while the rear part of the body will snug the exterior face. The stimulator facilitates the user to clip, wear and take off the stimulator and a micro-circuit control chip controls an output of a motor for different modes of vibration. In addition, the overall small size only occupies a little space within the mouth cavity without affecting the motions in the course of oral sex.
