    Abstract: An aft pivot assembly includes a height adjustment mechanism integrated into a device for mounting a payload, to enable release of the payload. The aft pivot assembly releasably secures an aft portion of the payload, such a pod, store, ordinance, or fuel tank. The aft pivot assembly includes a shaft operable with the mount device and a release component, the shaft being rotatable about multiple shaft axes relative to the mount device so as to either minimize or eliminate carriage loads about the aft portion, while reacting jettison loads during a jettison event or phase. The rotation of the shaft about its shaft axes can further be limited via a limit device. As the payload transitions from a carriage phase to a jettison phase, the shaft moves in multiple degrees of freedom and in multiple axes relative to the mount device.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for point cloud compression. An exemplary method includes: receiving point cloud data; quantizing the point cloud data to remove noise to produce quantized point cloud data; generating, using the quantized point cloud data, a plurality of multi-level tiles; performing reordering within the multi-level tiles to optimize a compression rate producing a plurality of reordered multi-level tiles; bit packing the reordered multi-level tiles minimizing bits required to store per tile header data producing a bit packed multi-level tile data; and performing additional compression on the bit-packed multi-level tile data using a first compression algorithm.

    Abstract: A vibration isolator includes a series of hard bushings that press against each other and slide, under the constraint of friction from the engagement of the bushings. A fastener, such as a bolt, passes through the engaged bushings, and one or more springs provide a spring force that maintains the engagement of the bushings. The bushings may include top and bottom bushings having chamfered surfaces, which engage corresponding upper and lower sloped surface on a middle friction bushing which can slide relative to the top and bottom bushings. The isolator may be part of a vibration isolation system that includes multiple isolators to provide isolation for an isolated object. The bushings may be made of metal or another suitable hard material. The isolator may be suitable in particular for vibration isolation in situations where vibrations are of severe, but short duration.

    Abstract: An arbor press includes a limiter for limiting load and/or travel of a ram used to press on an object. The ram includes a pair of pieces, a shaft and a sleeve, which are capable of relative translation, modulated by the spring. The spring may be preloaded, and configured to prevent overloading of the object, by limiting the transmission of force through the ram. The ram may also be configured to limit travel of the ram. The arbor press may include gearing to translate rotational movement of a handle to translational movement of the ram. The gearing may include a rack that is part of or is coupled to the shaft, and a pinion that is connected to the handle. Parts of the arbor press may be enclosed in a housing, to contain debris from metal-to-metal sliding in the arbor press, facilitating use in clean rooms.
