Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a fuel oil composition comprising a renewable fuel or a blend of petroleum based fuels with renewable fuels, also containing an additives composition to enhance the base and combined fuel's resistance to forming insoluble particulates upon storage at diminished operating temperatures. Further described is the additive package used to inhibit particulate formation.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a fuel component for an explosive, in which case the fuel component contains a volume-expanded molecularly dispersed hydrocarbon, and a method for its production. Furthermore, the invention relates to an explosive formed of the fuel component and an oxidizer, an explosive body filled with the explosive as well as an explosion method.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to acrylic block polymers, either block copolymers or homopolymers, synthesized by a controlled free-radical process, and their use as low temperature flow modifiers in bio-derived fuel compositions. They are especially useful in modifying the low temperature flow behavior in bio-derived fuels. The acrylic polymers are especially useful as cold filter plugging control additives in bio-derived fuels.
Abstract:
The invention relates to alkyl(meth)acrylates comprising a long linear chain bearing alkyl ramifications corresponding to general formula (I): in which R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical and R2 is a long alkyl chain of formula (II): R(CH2—CH2)n(CH2—CH(R3))m— in which R is a methyl or ethyl radical, R3 is an linear- or branched-chain alkyl radical containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, n=9 to 20, m=1 to 5, wherein it is possible for the —CH2—CH2— and —CH2—CH(R3)— units to be distributed in block or random form. These compounds can in particular be used for the production of additives intended to lower the settings point of paraffinic oils or fuels (diesel oils or fuel oils), and for the production of additives for lubricants.
Abstract:
A diesel fuel composition containing metallic additives that are stabilized against phase separation. The diesel fuel contains a colloidally dispersed or solubilized metal catalyst compound, which can be used for diesel particulate trap regeneration and, as a stabilizer, 5-1,000 ppm (weight) of an oil-soluble or oil-dispersible organic compound having a lipophilic hydrocarbyl chain having attached directly thereto at least two contiguous polar head functional groups, i.e., the functional groups are separated by no more than three carbon atoms. The diesel fuel composition is particularly suitable for use with diesel engines fitted with a particulate trap for emissions control.
Abstract:
The invention includes a method of reducing drag in a pipeline and/or improving the combustion efficiency of a fuel burning device by adding a grafted polymer to a hydrocarbon product. The invention also includes a method of improving the combustion efficiency of a gasoline engine by adding a grafted polymer to fuel and combusting the fuel within the gasoline engine, the grafted polymer having a viscoelastic effect in gasoline in the gasoline engine to generally correspond to a duration of the intake stroke/compression stroke/fuel burn sequence in a gasoline engine.
Abstract:
The present invention describes a fuel oil composition comprising at least one biodiesel oil and at least one additive for improving the filterability. In addition thereto, the present invention discloses a method for improving the filterability of a fuel oil comprising a biodiesel and a use of a polyalkyl(meth)acrylate polymer to improve the filterability of a fuel oil comprising a biodiesel
Abstract:
Methods, a lubricant composition, and a fuel composition for lubricating a two-stroke internal combustion engine include a lubricant composition that contains (A) an oil of lubricating viscosity, (B) an additive composition, and (C) a normally liquid solvent having a kinematic viscosity of less than 5 cSt at 100° C. The lubricant composition improves the cleanliness of a power valve of a two-stroke engine.
Abstract:
This invention provides a composition and a method of using a composition containing an imidazoline, optionally containing a paraffin inhibitor, for improving the pour point of liquid hydrocarbons, such as crude oil and petroleum fuel, and/or inhibiting or reducing the formation of paraffin deposits in such liquids.
