Abstract: Once variation of a method for producing a smart yarn includes: advancing a set of wires into an assembly field; at each sensor site in a series of sensor sites along the set of wires, depositing solder paste onto the set of wires at the sensor site, placing a sensor into the solder paste on the set of wires at the sensor site, and heating the set of wires within the assembly field to reflow the solder paste; wrapping fibers around the set of wires and sensors arranged along the set of wires to form a continuous length of the smart yarn; separating a first segment of the smart yarn from the continuous length of the smart yarn; and weaving the first segment of the smart yarn into a garment.

Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) module includes a base that is conductive and is selectively covered with an insulative layer. The base can include a connecting flange and a light emitting region. Traces are provided on the insulative coating and can be used to connect LEDs positioned on the light emitting region to pads on the connecting flange. The connecting flange can be offset in angle and/or position from the base and can be configured to provide a contact shape suitable to mate with a connector in a polarized manner. The base can be shaped so as to provide the desired functionality.

Abstract: A method for producing an electronic device capable of connecting an electronic component precisely with a high-density circuit pattern includes applying a solution wherein conductive nanoparticles with a particle diameter of less than 1 μm and an insulating material are dispersed, or applying a solution wherein the conductive nanoparticles are coated with an insulating material layer, to a surface of an optically transparent substrate in a desired shape. A film of the conductive nanoparticles coated with the insulating material is formed. The electronic component is mounted on the film. The film is irradiated with light from a backside surface of the optically transparent substrate, and the light sinters the conductive nanoparticles. Accordingly, a first circuit pattern connected to electrodes of the electronic component is formed, and the first circuit pattern is adhered to the electrodes of the electronic component.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to integrated modular display panels. In one embodiment, modular display panel includes a shell with a first thermally conductive material, a printed circuit board disposed in the shell, and a plurality of LEDs attached to a first side of the printed circuit board. A driver circuit is disposed in the shell and coupled to the plurality of LEDs from a second side of the printed circuit board. The panel further includes a power supply unit for powering the LEDs. The printed circuit board are disposed between the power supply unit and the plurality of LEDs. A second thermally conductive material is disposed between the power supply unit and an outer back side of the panel. A protective structure is disposed over the first side of the printed circuit board, where a display side of the panel, opposite the outer back side, is waterproof.
