Abstract: A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head that ejects a liquid onto a medium, a color measuring unit configured to measure color of a surface of the medium, having a light projecting unit emits a light flux to the surface of the medium and a light receiving unit receiving light obtained by reflecting light emitted from the light projecting unit on the surface of the medium, a changing unit configured to change a reflection position of light, which matches the central axis of the light flux from the light projecting unit, on the medium, and a control unit configured to set the reflection position where color measurement data indicating the highest lightness of the color measurement data pieces of the surface of the medium is obtained as a color measurement position.

Abstract: A device for determining the surface topology and associated color of a structure, such as a teeth segment, includes a scanner for providing depth data for points along a two-dimensional array substantially orthogonal to the depth direction, and an image acquisition means for providing color data for each of the points of the array, while the spatial disposition of the device with respect to the structure is maintained substantially unchanged. A processor combines the color data and depth data for each point in the array, thereby providing a three-dimensional color virtual model of the surface of the structure. A corresponding method for determining the surface topology and associate color of a structure is also provided.

Abstract: A method for optimizing initial discriminating information extracted from a two-dimensional image of the patient dental arches, referred to as “acquired image”, by a three-dimensional digital reference model of at least one portion of a patient arch, the method including the steps: C1. assessing quality of the initial discriminating information and quality threshold, filtering to keep only the initial discriminating information that has quality higher than the quality threshold, and defining “the discriminating information to be tested” as the initial discriminating information selected; C2. testing consistency between the discriminating information to be tested and reference model; C3. assessing test result and, in accordance with the assessment: adding discriminating information that was not kept to the discriminating information to be tested and/or deleting discriminating information from the discriminating information to be tested, and then returning to step C2. or; defining the optimal discriminating information as the discriminating information to be tested.

Abstract: Colorimeter includes an illumination light reception unit, an attached part, a detection unit, a recognition unit, a color measurement control unit, and an output unit. To the attached part, a mask member is attached to cover the illumination light reception unit. The detection unit detects parts disposed on the mask member. The recognition unit recognizes information on the kind of the mask member in accordance with a detection result by the detection unit. The color measurement control unit causes the recognition unit to recognize information on the kind of mask member in accordance with the detection result at a first timing, and on the kind of mask member in accordance with the detection result at a second timing. The output unit performs a predetermined output in response to a discordance between the information on the kind of mask member at the first timing and at the second timing.
