The touch sensor may be presented in a slider form and may be adapted to facilitate a user in adjusting a frame position of an adjustable bed. The transmitter may be electrically coupled to a processor and may receive input from the touch sensor, for communication control signals to the adjustable bed in accordance with the input received from the touch sensor.
Abstract:
A sonic percussion therapy system includes a patient support apparatus and a control module. The sonic percussion structure is attached to the inflatable cell so that the sonic percussion structure moves in response to movement of the inflatable cell. The control module includes a sonic percussion control module and a position control module. The sonic percussion control module independently controls frequency and/or intensity of at least one of the plurality of sonic percussion structures. The position control module selectively raises and lowers at least one of the plurality of sonic percussion structures with respect to a patient surface.
Abstract:
An air-tight foam-filled bladder is used for varying massage intensity in a massage chair, massage mat, or other massage device. The bladder may be compressed from a default or relaxed thickness by evacuating air from the bladder. The thickness of the foam-filled bladder may be reduced to a collapsed thickness in which the foam is compressed within the bladder. In use, the foam-filled bladder is placed proximate a conventional fixed massage mechanism in a massage device, such as in the back rest of a massage chair. By controlling the amount of air evacuated from the bladder, the intensity of the massage is controlled by varying the amount of pressure exerted by the fixed massage mechanism on the user. In the case of a massage chair, the user may advantageously sit back in the chair without discomfort when the user does not want a massage, and may control the intensity of the massage provided by the chair. In another embodiment, an active pump may be used to inflate one or more bladders that may or may not include a foam insert. The number, size and location of the bladders may be varied in any of the embodiments.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a pad and sound transmission system which is adapted to directly transmit audible sound waves into the body at high intensity levels. In one embodiment, the subject invention includes a back pad and a seat pad. Each pad includes a speaker module having an acoustic speaker disposed within the pad and surrounded by a plurality of different layers.
Abstract:
An adjustable bed frame assembly includes a center frame comprising two substantially parallel side frame members connected by two substantially parallel connector frame members, a forward connector frame member and a rear connector frame member, wherein the two connector frame members are located within approximately a center one-third of the length of the side frame members. The adjustable bed frame assembly also includes a base frame that includes a plurality of legs for mounting on a floor is rigidly affixed to the center frame such that the center frame does not move with respect to the base frame. The adjustable bed frame assembly further includes a head frame that comprises two substantially parallel side frame members connected by at least one connector frame member, wherein two lower ends of the head frame's parallel side frame members are pivotally attached to the forward connector frame member of the center frame; in addition, a downwardly facing extension frame member is attached to the head frame's connector frame. The adjustable bed frame assembly also includes an actuator for raising and lowering the head frame, wherein one end of the actuator is pivotally connected to the head frame's extension frame member and an opposing end of the actuator is connected to the center frame's rear connector frame member. The adjustable bed frame assembly also includes a mattress platform affixed to a top side of the head frame to provide support to a head portion of a mattress.
Abstract:
An automatically retractable device for use in a leg holder of a massage machine comprises a body axially disposed at the front end of the massage machine and including a driver and a connecting rod member both mounted thereon, and including outer and inner racks for an axial rotation and a resilient extraction, the outer rack pivotally coupled onto the driver of the body, and the inner rack including a sliding rail assembly and a controlling mechanism, the sliding rail assembly axially connected onto the connecting rod assembly, and the controlling mechanism including a retaining element and an engaging block axially fixed on the inner rack, and between the engaging block and the outer rack is secured a positioning portion and a fixing member for controlling the movement and position of the inner rack, thereby adjusting the expansion length of the inner rack based on user's leg length.
Abstract:
Apparatus for passively exercising at least a portion of a human body includes an inflatable bag which exerts a force during inflation, an electrical air pump disposed in fluid communication with the bag for supplying an atmospheric air medium to inflate the bag, a solenoid valve disposed in fluid communication with the inflatable bag for discharging the atmospheric air medium to deflate the bag and a timing control circuit coupled to the pump and to the solenoid valve for cyclically inflating and deflating the bag. The control circuit includes a dual integrated circuit timer operable with an external resistor-capacitor timer control to provide such cyclical inflation and deflation of the bag. The duration of the cycle is adjusted with a variable resistor coupled to the dual timer. The apparatus can be integrated into a seat or an article of furniture.
Abstract:
A massage device includes a motor, a body mechanism and a massage mechanism. The body mechanism includes a faceplate, a soleplate, a massage transmission assembly and a move transmission assembly which are disposed between the faceplate and the soleplate. The massage mechanism fixed to the body mechanism includes at least one massage head, a massage assembly and a massage-head transmission assembly. The transmission of the massage device is through the engagement of the worm, the worm wheel, the massage transmission assembly, the gears, the gear rack, the planetary gear and the central gear. Such transmission enables the massage head to make four kinds of motions at the same time to achieve a variety of massage effects, change the intensity of strength and vary the massage position continuously in a larger region.
