    Abstract: An electrical contact includes a planar main body, a supporting arm extending upwardly from an upper edge thereof, and a spring arm extending curvedly and upwardly from a lower edge thereof with a contacting region at a free end region. The spring arm will contact the supporting arm when the spring arm is downwardly pressed by the CPU. A connecting part extends from an upper portion of the main body for connecting to a carrier strip, and includes a first connecting section coplanar with the main body, and a second connecting section perpendicular to the first connecting section wherein the carrier strip is connected to an upper edge of the second connecting section so as to be spaced from the corresponding spring arm and supporting arm, thus avoiding improper coating thereupon when the gold coating is applied to the self-contacting regions of the spring arm and supporting arm.

    Abstract: A connector assembly having two ends respectively connected to a case and a main circuit board comprises a bracket, a bottom plate assembled on the bottom of the bracket and a flexible circuit board located between the bracket and the bottom plate. The bracket includes a mating surface attached to the case, a mounting surface opposite the mating surface, and a receiving cavity recessed inwardly from the mounting surface. The bracket includes a pair of openings extending through the mating surface thereof and communicating with the receiving cavity. A pair of chip modules are disposed on the flexible circuit board corresponding to the openings. One side of the flexible circuit board, which is farther away from the bracket, includes an electrical connector for mating with the main circuit board.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing defining a forwardly extending mating tongue, a plurality of contacts with contacting sections exposed upon the mating tongue and a metallic shield enclosing the insulative housing to define a mating cavity. A metallic shielding plate is embedded within the mating tongue and forms a pair of locking notches in two opposite lateral sides. The mating tongue further includes in two opposite lateral sides a pair of recesses aligned with and intimately located inside of the pair of locking notches, respectively, in the transverse direction. The housing and the corresponding contacts commonly form the terminal module which is composed of an upper terminal module, a lower terminal module commonly sandwiching a shielding plate module therebetween in the vertical direction. The metallic shield optionally defines a clip structure by folding an extension on a rear lower edge thereof.
