Abstract: A manual disconnect for an electric circuit includes a base with primary terminals and an interlock connector. A plug assembly has fuse terminals and an interlock resistor assembly. The plug assembly is adapted to be moved relative to the base between a disconnected position, a primary circuit engaged position, and an interlock position. The plug assembly is moved linearly and rotationally relative to the base when moving between these positions. The manual disconnect also includes a connector position assurance assembly. The connector position assurance assembly includes a connector position assurance button that is movable relative to the plug assembly. The connector position assurance button can be moved between a pre-lock position and an assurance position. When located in the assurance position, the connector position assurance assembly prevents the plug assembly from rotating relative to the base.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes a first housing. A second housing is moveable relative to the first housing. The electrical connector includes a lever mounted on the first housing for relative rotational movement. The lever may move between a pre-stage position and a final position. The lever engages the second housing to move the second housing linearly between a pre-stage position and a seated position relative to the first housing. The electrical connector includes a pre-lock that retains the lever in the pre-stage position relative to the first housing. A pre-lock release on the second housing releases the pre-lock when the second housing is in the pre-stage position relative to the first housing. Releasing the pre-lock allows movement of the lever relative to the first housing.

Abstract: An electric vehicle charging system in described that includes an electrical energy source that includes a base with a plurality of electrical signal connectors to receive a first electrical signal, a second electrical signal and a ground signal, an adapter having a plurality of outlet connectors configured to electrically connect to at least some of the plurality of electrical signal connectors, wherein the adapter can be placed in a plurality of positions on the base to correctly orient the base to any of plurality of outlet connector orientations, and a locking ring adapted to engage the base to removable fix the adapter to the base in one of the four positions. The system can include a thermistor assembly to sense thermal energy in the source and if thermal energy exceeds a threshold to output a signal. The system can include a charging cord for an electric vehicle having a proper orientation when engaging the source, wherein the adapter is in a correct orientation with the base being in the proper orientation when connected to the socket-outlet.

Abstract: A manual disconnect includes a housing and a base attached to the housing by a fastener. The base includes primary terminals. The manual disconnect also includes a plug assembly that includes fuse terminals and a bolt cover. The plug assembly is movable relative to the base between a disconnected position wherein the fuse terminals are not engaged with respective primary terminals, and a primary circuit engaged position, wherein the fuse terminals are engaged with respective primary terminals. When the plug assembly is in the primary circuit engaged position the bolt cover is positioned to prevent the fastener from being removed from the housing. A handle or cover part of the plug assembly is then rotated to a locked position with respect to the base. Then, the plug assembly can be moved further in the insertion direction to close an interlock circuit, allowing current to flow in the primary circuit.
