Abstract:
Portable devices and methods for preventing deep vein thrombosis (DVT) by assuring that the ankle is flexed and extended sufficiently to promote blood flow in the lower leg are disclosed. The device includes an actuator with a free movement mode that allows a patient to move freely between activations or to initiate movement to delay a next automatic activation.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a kinetic shape is designed by determining an applied force to be applied to an object that is to incorporate the kinetic shape, determining a reactive force that is desired to be produced in response to the applied force, inputting the applied force and the reactive force into a kinetic shape equation, and solving the equation to obtain the kinetic shape.
Abstract:
A head massager including a housing, a power source, at least one driving wheel, at least one massage head assembly and at least one push component. The power source is fixed in an inner side of the housing, the at least one driving wheel is driven to rotate around a first rotation axis by the power source, and the at least one massage head assembly is located below the at least one driving wheel. The massage head assembly is driven to rotate around the center of the spherical hinge by the at least one push component arranged aslant, which simulates human hands' grasping and kneading operation and improves the massaging comfort degree.
Abstract:
A motorized machine for passively applying a tapping force to the bottoms of a user's feet includes a motor, a pedal rocking mechanism, at least one pedal and at least one bumper configured so as to cooperate to, during operation of the motor, cause the bottom portion of the at least one pedal to tap against the at least one bumper so as to provide pulsatile acceleration to the bottom of the user's foot. The pulsatile acceleration has a force sufficient to increase pulsatile shear stress to the endothelium, of sufficient magnitude to cause the release of beneficial mediators.
Abstract:
A relaxation device comprising: a resting platform having a generally planar surface; a frame assembly supporting the resting platform; the frame assembly having at least one rail extending along an axis oriented along the width of the resting platform; a frame support for supporting the frame assembly above the ground, the frame support having a rail guide extending along an axis oriented along the width of the resting platform, the at least one rail slidably mounted to the rail guide; and a cam assembly having a cam, a cam arm, a cam guide and a motor, the cam guide fixedly mounted to the at least one rail, the cam guide having a slot extending orthogonal to the at least one rail, the slot defining a cam path, the cam mounted to a distal end of the cam arm, the cam operatively disposed within the slot, the motor mechanically connected to the cam arm so as to rotate the cam arm, wherein the cam is moved along the cam path further moving the at least one rail between opposing ends of the rail guide so as to move the resting platform in a side-to-side manner.

Abstract:
A device vibrates body tissue to reduce pain experience by the body tissue in a therapeutic procedure. The device includes a frame and a tip connectable to the frame which can be activated to produce vibration. An electromagnetic reader is connected to the frame and includes an antenna for sending and receiving electromagnetic radiation. An electromagnetic tag is connected to the removable tip, and also has an antenna for sending and receiving electromagnetic radiation in communication with the electromagnetic reader antenna. The antennas are disposed proximate to each other when the removable tip is connected to the frame, whereby the electromagnetic tag can transmit information to the electromagnetic reader.
Abstract:
A swinging joint device includes: a driving shaft member; a first swinging arm that is swingably supported about the driving shaft member; a driven shaft member that is arranged parallel to the driving shaft member; an interlocking swinging member that swings about the driven shaft member in an interlocking manner with swinging of the first swinging arm; an elastic body that is connected to the interlocking swinging member to generate an urging force in a direction opposite to an interlocking swinging direction of the interlocking swinging member; a rigidity variable portion that varies rigidity of the elastic body seen from the interlocking swinging member; a first angle detection portion that detects a swinging angle; and a control portion that controls the rigidity variable portion according to the swinging angle detected by the first angle detection portion to adjust the rigidity of the elastic body seen from the interlocking swinging member.
Abstract:
A first head of a beauty device includes a stirring mechanism stirring bubbles, and a head case provided with an opening for allowing the bubbles stirred by the stirring mechanism to pass through. When the first head is used while being mounted to the body of the beauty device, bubbles are supplied to the stirring mechanism from the body of the beauty device. In a state where bubbles supplied to the stirring mechanism are present between the stirring mechanism and the skin, the bubbles are stirred and moved between the stirring mechanism and the skin by the stirring mechanism, and thus impurities of the skin are removed by the bubbles.
Abstract:
A lower limb bouncing device causes knee bouncing by stimulating the hip joint, or base end of a lower limb, while allowing the lower leg, or terminal end of the lower limb, to relax. The device includes: a flap and a motor coupled to the flap. The flap allows a heel resting surface to swing from the motor. The motor includes: an output axis with an eccentric cam; and a pivotable plate on the eccentric cam. The pivotable plate has an attached pivoting end. The flap is on an enclosure side so that the heel can be placed at a minimum height above the floor when the foot is placed on the floor surface. The flap connects to another end of the pivotable plate allowing swing movement by the pivotable plate pivoting around the attached end in response to rotation of the eccentric cam.
