Abstract: A neuromorphic controlled powered orthotic and prosthetic system and device including a custom or universal fit fixed-ankle orthosis, to stabilize or immobilize an injured lower limb or act as an ankle prosthesis, and an actuated or powered articulated false-foot connected to the fixed-ankle orthosis or the prosthesis to form an actuated articulated false-foot orthosis. Associated with or mounted on the actuated articulated false-foot, or in or on the body, are sensors for sensing the intent of the subject to move, and the movement range of the articulating false-foot or AAFO and an environmental perturbation. An actuator is used to drive the articulated false-foot orthosis. The system and device further include a controller having an electronic circuit with a biomimetic design based on knowledge of connectivity of neurons within the spinal cord of a primitive vertebrate. The system and device include an electronic circuit made from analog very large scale integrated components and discrete electronic components capable of autonomously generating cyclic voltage output. An integral power supply serves the portable controller and AAFO.

Abstract: A system and method for providing Thermal contrast therapy are presented. The system may comprise a fluid membrane barrier, a human interface device (HID), fluid tubing, a pump, and a reservoir. The system may be operable to apply any combination of heat, cold, and pressurized compression, light energy, acoustic energy, and vibratory energy to a therapy recipient for treating anal-prostate-perineal and vaginal areas, as well as podological and other extremities. The system may be operable to impart a desired therapy temperature to the human interface device and to expand a membrane containing a therapy fluid. The expanded membrane may conform to the contours of a therapy site. Operation of the human interface device may be controlled using a remote-control device. The therapy recipient may be able to control the temperature of the fluid or gel, as well as reception of light energy, acoustic energy and vibratory pulsing energy to assist in treatment of one or more conditions.

Abstract: An inversion table that incorporates additional therapies, such as massage, traction, and heat. Therapeutic elements of the inversion table may be programmable, so that settings are cycled automatically through preprogrammed patterns. The table may have one or more back massage elements that travel along tracks in the table to massage different portions of the back, and similar neck massage elements that massage different portions of the neck. Traction actuators may apply traction forces to the head and the legs. One or more heating pads may apply heat to any portion of the body. Settings for the therapeutic elements may be controlled by a processor that may execute stored therapy programs, or may respond to user input from a controller or a smartphone.

Abstract: The system and method provide for electrocardiogram analysis and optimization of patient-customized cardiopulmonary resuscitation and therapy delivery. An external medical device includes a housing and a processor within the housing. The processor can be configured to receive an input signal for a patient receiving chest compressions and to select at least one filter mechanism and to apply the filter mechanism to the signal to at least substantially remove chest compression artifacts from the signal. A real time dynamic analysis of a cardiac rhythm is applied to adjust and integrate CPR prompting of a medical device. Real-time cardiac rhythm quality is facilitated using a rhythm assessment meter.

Abstract: Computer-implemented system and method that allows for the rehabilitation of individuals with strabismus by leveraging commercially available VR headset technology. Eye tracking capabilities and external cameras of existing VR headsets, enables the system and method to first gather the image that the dominant, unaffected eye is focused on (FIG. 1). Then, given where the strabismus unaffected eye's gaze falls on its screen, the system and method will take the image and identify where that point lies on the strabismus affected eye's screen. This point is the ideal gaze point of the strabismus affected eye. The software solution disclosed herein will then warp the strabismus affected eye's screen so that this new gaze will line up with the unaffected eye's gaze.
