Abstract: A fluid distribution apparatus is disposed in a fluidized bed reactor and includes a distributor pipe configured to carry a fluid and a centerpipe fluidly connected to the distributor pipe and enclosing a conical distributor for receiving the fluid from the distributor pipe. The conical distributor is defined by an exterior radius including the centerpipe, an upper end including an upper angled circular plate, and a lower end including a lower circular plate. The fluid distribution apparatus further includes a plurality of inlet nozzles fluidly connected to the conical distributor and disposed through the centerpipe for distributing the fluid from the conical distributor to a bed of the fluidized bed reactor.

Abstract: As a method for producing a copolymer with a high oil absorption rate by separating a solvent from a copolymer solution containing a copolymer in a simple manner with a less energy consumption, the present invention relates to a production method for obtaining a copolymer by separating a solvent from a copolymer solution, the method including the following Steps A to C. Step A: a step of regulating a solid component concentration (Ts) of the copolymer solution to a range of (5≤Ts≤60) in terms of a mass %, Step B: a step of heating the copolymer (P) solution obtained in the Step A such that a temperature T (° C.) is in a specified range, and Step C: a step of discharging the copolymer solution heated in the Step B from a specified nozzle at a linear velocity of 1 to 100 m/sec to separate the solvent in an inert gas stream at 0 to 200° C.

Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing or eliminating corrosion of components of a reactor system, including a supercritical water gasification system, are described. The reactor system may include a reactor vessel configured to receive a reactor fluid through a reactor fluid inlet and a product source fluid corrosive to portions of the reactor system through a product source fluid inlet. The product source fluid may react with the reactor fluid to produce one or more reaction products, such as a fuel gas. The product source fluid inlet may be arranged within the reactor fluid inlet such that the product source fluid entering the reactor vessel is encased by a fluid conduit formed by the flow of reactor fluid entering the reactor vessel. The layer may operate to reduce corrosion by forming a barrier between the product source fluid and the surface of the reactor fluid inlet and/or the reactor vessel.

Abstract: The present invention provides a weir quench, an apparatus utilizing the weir quench and processes incorporating the same. The weir quench incorporates an inlet having an inner diameter (Di) and an upper chamber having an inner diameter (Duc), wherein the inlet inner diameter (Di) is at least 90% of the upper chamber inner diameter (Duc). The apparatus constitutes a reactor having an outlet with an inner diameter fluidly coupled with the weir quench inlet, wherein the ratio of the reactor oulet inner diameter (Dr) to the weir quench inlet diameter (Di) is greater than one. The weir quench, and apparatus are advantageously utilized in processes utilizing a limiting reagent.
