Abstract: A method for increasing the adhesion between the first surface of a first web-type material and a first surface of a second web-type material, the first web-type material and the second web-type material being supplied to a lamination nip continuously and with the same direction of the web. In said nip, the first surface of the first web-type material and of the second web-type material are laminated together and both first surfaces are treated with a plasma over the whole surface. The lamination nip is formed by a pressure roller and a counter-pressure roller and at least one of the surfaces of the rollers or both are equipped with a dielectric. The plasma or the corona is produced by a nozzle. The first web-type material comprises an adhesive compound layer arranged in the first web-type material such as to form the first surface of the first web-type material.

Abstract: Provided is a PSA sheet with which good air release properties can be obtained while whose quality can be further enhanced. This invention provides a PSA sheet comprising a substrate film and a PSA layer provided to at least one face of the substrate film. The PSA sheet further comprises a coating layer partially covering the PSA layer surface. The PSA sheet's adhesive is formed of the PSA layer and the coating layer. The coating layer has a linearly extending part running from one edge to another edge of the adhesive face. The linearly extending part has a first face forming the PSA sheet's adhesive face and a second face located on the PSA layer side relative to the first face. The second face of the linearly extending part forms an overall gently curved line in a cross section perpendicularly intersecting the length direction of the linearly extending part.

Abstract: Composite laminate interlayers for adhering a glass laminate comprising a sheet of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) between layers of plasticized polyvinyl butyral (PVB) adhesive layers, wherein at least one of the PVB adhesive layers is stiffened, e.g. by reduction in the amount of plasticizer, and has a glass transition temperature greater than 35° C. The PET is preferably 0.075 to 0.25 mm (3-10 mils) thick and can have a functional coating for reducing radiation, e.g. UV or IR or visible light, transmission through the glass laminate. The laminate can also comprise at least one elastomeric layer adapted to reducing sound transmission through the glass laminate. The laminates exhibit enhanced maximum flexural modulus of greater than about 350 Newtons/centimeter.
