Abstract: A biofuel includes a mixture having a gasoil generated from hydropyrolysis and hydroconversion of a solid biomass containing lignocellulose and an isomerized hydroprocessed ester and fatty acid (HEFA) generated from hydrotreating a renewable resource having fats and oils. The gasoil has a cetane index less than 46 and at least 10 parts per million weight (ppmw) of a heteroatom and a cetane index of the biofuel is greater than 46.

Abstract: A process for producing a chloride depleted feedstock from a chloride containing crude oil or fat feedstock is provided. The process including the following steps: providing the chloride containing crude oil or fat feedstock; contacting the chloride containing crude oil or fat feedstock with at least one degumming agent under degumming conditions to obtain a degummed feedstock; contacting the degummed feedstock with at least one first chloride removal agent under first chloride removal conditions to obtain a first dechlorinated feedstock; contacting the first dechlorinated feedstock with at least one bleaching agent under bleaching conditions to obtain a bleached feedstock; contacting the bleached feedstock with at least one second chloride removal agent under second chloride removal conditions to obtain a chloride depleted feedstock; and routing out the chloride depleted feedstock from a second chloride removal step.

Abstract: This disclosure describes processes for using a single cellulosic feedstock or a combination of two or more different cellulosic feedstocks with a starch component to produce a fermented product. The process includes separating the components of the cellulosic feedstocks with fractionation, pretreating a component with wet fractionation with chemicals, hydrolysis and fermenta-tion of the pretreated feedstock(s) to produce cellulosic biofuel. The process may include combining the cellulosic feedstock(s) with other components to a cook and/or a fermentation process, distilling and dehydrating the combined components to produce the biofuel. The process may also include producing a whole stillage stream from the feedstock(s) and mechanically processing the whole stillage stream to produce a high-value protein animal feed.

Abstract: Carbon dioxide capture systems in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure are provided. In one embodiment, an apparatus for capturing carbon emissions from a vehicle is provided, comprising: an exhaust feeder comprising a first end and a second end, wherein the first end connects to the vehicle and receives exhaust gases emitted from the vehicle; a housing connected to the second end and secured to an exterior surface of the vehicle, wherein the housing receives the exhaust gases emitted from the vehicle via the exhaust feeder; wherein the housing comprises: at least one gas deflector surface that directs the exhaust gases to a sorbent material configured to capture carbon dioxide from the exhaust gases; a detachable section that allows for removal and installation of the sorbent material; and an exit port that allows for release of residual gases after the sorbent material captures carbon dioxide.

According to the present invention, high-octane gas, regular gas, diesel oil, heating oil, gasoline laced with heating oil, and the like can be clearly identified without using a large-scale analysis such as gas chromatography or mass spectroscopy by using a sensor having a structure in which a surface of a sensor body which detects a surface stress or the like is coated with particles modified with a hydrocarbon group such as an alkyl group.
