Abstract: A roller finger follower includes a housing and a roller assembly. The roller assembly includes a roller positioned between a pair of sidewalls of the housing, an axle extending through opposing holes in the sidewalls of the housing and the roller, and preferably includes a plurality of needles positioned between the axle and the roller for rotatably mounting the roller on the axle. The roller assembly also includes a first bearing sleeve positioned in the first hole and a second bearing sleeve positioned in the second hole. Ends of the axle are respectively positioned in and rotatable relative to the first bearing sleeve and the second bearing sleeve such that the axle is rotatable relative to the housing.

A thermal expansion coefficient of a material forming the driven-side rotational member is greater than a thermal expansion coefficient of a material forming the mounting member.

Abstract: The valve opening/closing timing control device includes: the driving rotating body; the driven rotating body; an advancing chamber and a retarding chamber formed by partitioning a fluid pressure chamber between the driving and driven rotating bodies; and a phase control unit supplying pressurized fluid to the advancing or retarding chamber via an advancing channel or a retarding channel penetrating through the driven rotating body. In the driven rotating body, an outer circumferential member and an inner circumferential member are formed integrally/coaxially with each other. The advancing and retarding channel form a predetermined angle. Between every pair of an advancing channel and a retarding channel, a groove portion is formed in one of an inner circumferential surface of the outer circumferential member and an outer circumferential surface of the inner circumferential member, and an elongated protruding portion is formed on the other, at a position that corresponds to the groove portion.

Abstract: A valve cover module includes a unitary cover and carrier made of a carbon fiber composite. The unitary cover and carrier has a lower side with a peripheral edge for attaching to a cylinder head. The lower side of the unitary cover and carrier also has a series of cavities interconnected with aligned apertures defining bearing surfaces. A plurality of cam lobes is disposed in the series of cavities. Also, the valve cover module includes a camshaft rotatable on the bearing surfaces and extending through the aligned apertures to couple with the cam lobes.

Abstract: A valve gear for an engine includes a camshaft including a cam, a rocker shaft, and a first rocker arm which swings when pressed by the cam. The valve gear includes a spring, which biases the first rocker arm and a second rocker arm which presses an intake valve or an exhaust valve, in a return direction. The valve gear includes a first pin hole of the first rocker arm, a second pin hole and a third pin hole of the second rocker arm, a first switch pin, a second switch pin, a third switch pin, and a switch which switches between a connected state and a non-connected state of the switch pins. The second rocker arm includes a stopper against which the first rocker arm abuts. When the first rocker arm abuts against the stopper, all of the pin holes are located on the same axis.

Abstract: Provided are a heat-resistant member provided with a heat-shielding coating suitable for stable manufacturing and excellent in heat-insulating, thermoresponsive and distortion accommodating properties, and a method for manufacturing the same. The heat-shielding coating includes a metallic portion formed of agglomerates of a plurality of metal particles, and inorganic compound particles dispersed in the metallic portion. The metal particles are diffusion-bonded each other, and the metallic portion and a base material of the heat-resistant member are diffusion-bonded each other. The manufacturing method includes the steps of depositing mixed particles of the metal particles and the inorganic compound particles on a surface of the base material in a film shape; resistance-heating the mixed particles by current-passing while pressurized in a thickness direction; diffusion-bonding the metal particles each other; and the metallic portion and the base material each other.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a composite component (12). At least one shaft (2) and at least one sintered part (1), preferably in the form of a rotor or a cam, are assembled into the composite component. In order to assemble the composite component, at least the following steps are carried out: —introducing the shaft (2) into a continuous bore (3) of the sintered part (1) and —calibrating the sintered part (1) at least by means of a calibrating die (4), furthermore preferably with the simultaneous application of an axial force onto the sintered part (1) by means of at least one upper punch (5) and at least one lower punch (7), wherein the shaft (2) can be found in the bore (3) of the sintered part (1) at least temporarily during the calibration process. The invention further relates to a composite component (12).
