Abstract: An inversion table includes a supporting stand, a tilt inversion mechanism and an operating unit. The tilt inversion mechanism includes an inversion unit including a support table assembly which is pivotally disposed on the supporting stand, and an extension assembly which is coupled with and extends from the support table assembly downwardly. A feet holding unit includes a front feet holding assembly securely and non-pivotably disposed on a lower portion of the inversion unit, and a rear feet holding assembly pivotably and movably connected to the inversion unit. The operating unit includes an operating assembly operably coupled with the front feet holding assembly, and is rotatable about a rotating axis at the front feet holding assembly to actuate the rear feet holding assembly to rotate and move toward the front feet holding assembly. In an inversion state, the users feet is firmly held on the front feet holding assembly.

Abstract: A device may include a high-level control layer comprising a convolutional neural network (CNN) configured to receive exoskeleton sensor data from one or more sensors on an exoskeleton and generate a user state estimate. The device may include a mid-level control layer configured to receive the user state estimate and generate a torque command for an actuator based on the user state estimate. The user state estimate may be an estimated gait phase, where the mid-level control layer generates the torque command as a function of the estimated gait phase based on an assistance profile. The high-level control layer may include a backward labeler and a real-time adaptation trainer. The backward labeler relabels ground truth gait phase from the exoskeleton sensor data using a local peak detection. The real-time adaptation trainer trains the CNN in a single epoch of backpropagation with the ground truth gait phase.

Abstract: An adjustable calf stretcher is an apparatus that helps treat various physical ailments by enabling the safe and efficient stretching of the calf muscle area. The apparatus includes a foot-bracing platform, a floor-bracing base, and a tilt-and-lock mechanism. The foot-bracing platform is designed to accommodate the user's feet when the user is stretching using the apparatus. The tilt-and-lock mechanism enables the quick adjustment of the tilt angle of the foot-bracing platform to enable the user to target different muscles while stretching with the apparatus. The tilt-and-lock mechanism also secures the foot-bracing platform to the floor-bracing base while enabling the quick adjustment of the tilt angle of the foot-bracing platform. The floor-bracing base enables the safe placement of the apparatus on the ground without having to secure the apparatus to an external object so that the user can safely stretch. The floor-bracing base also facilitates the transportation of the apparatus.

Abstract: A method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes elevating the heart of an individual to a first height relative to a lower body of the individual. The lower body may be in a substantially horizontal plane. The method may also include elevating the head of the individual to a second height relative to the lower body of the individual. The second height may be greater than the first height. The method may further include performing one or more of a type of CPR or a type of intrathoracic pressure regulation while elevating the heart and the head. The first height and the second height may be determined based on one or both of the type of CPR or the type of intrathoracic pressure regulation.

Abstract: A massage device for a person's appendage includes a plurality of enclosures each comprising an outer surface and a hollow interior space having a control circuit, a power source such as a rechargeable battery, a vibration mechanism, and preferably at least one motor and a gear arrangement. Each enclosure includes at least one roller driven by the gear arrangement and the at least one motor. A plurality of connectors are each fixed between two adjacent enclosures to form a ring with the enclosures and the connectors. The connectors are adapted to contract or expand such that with the person's appendage fitted through the ring, the connectors are retracted until the rollers each contact the person's appendage to move the device along or about the person's appendage while the vibration mechanism massages the person's appendage.
