Abstract: The invention relates to a process to prepare tetrahalopropenes, such as 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (1233xf). The process comprises atomizing a feed material, such as 1,1,2,3-tetrachloropropene (1230xa) and the like, and mixing it with superheated HF to form a vaporized composition of feed material and HF with substantially instantaneous contact with a vapor phase fluorination catalyst. The invention extends catalyst life and forestalls catalyst deactivation.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for upgrading a pyrolysis oil stream and a hydrocarbon stream are provided herein. In an embodiment, a method for upgrading a pyrolysis oil stream and a hydrocarbon stream includes separately introducing the pyrolysis oil stream and the hydrocarbon stream into a reaction zone to form a mixture of the pyrolysis oil stream and the hydrocarbon stream in the reaction zone. The mixture of the pyrolysis oil stream and the hydrocarbon stream is catalytically cracked in the presence of a particulate cracking catalyst in the reaction zone. The pyrolysis oil stream is maintained at a temperature of less than or equal to about 100° C. substantially up to introduction into the reaction zone.

Abstract: A liquid fuel catalytic partial oxidation (CPOX) reformer can include a plurality or an array of spaced-apart CPOX reactor units, each reactor unit including an elongate tube having a gas-permeable wall with internal and external surfaces, the wall enclosing an open gaseous flow passageway with at least a portion of the wall having CPOX catalyst disposed therein and/or comprising its structure. The catalyst-containing wall structure and open gaseous flow passageway enclosed thereby define a gaseous phase CPOX reaction zone, the catalyst-containing wall section being gas-permeable to allow gaseous CPOX reaction mixture to diffuse therein and hydrogen rich product reformate to diffuse therefrom. At least the exterior surface of the CPOX reaction zone can include a hydrogen barrier. The liquid fuel CPOX reformer can include a vaporizer, one or more igniters, and a source of liquid reformable fuel.

Abstract: A spraying device for quickly forming gas hydrates, includes a stable gas supply system, a saturated solution preparation system, a gas-liquid mixed sprayer, a temperature control system and a data collecting and processing system. Pressure atomization is achieved at a high atomization speed and the atomized fog drops are uniformly distributed within a scale range of 5-10 microns to form a gas-in-water contact mode, so as to effectively increase a gas-water contact superficial area and significantly shorten the induction time of forming the gas hydrates. The device achieves gas-liquid intensive mixing in a gas-liquid mixing cavity in a spray manner and consumes no energy, thereby reducing the total energy consumption of forming the gas hydrates and improving the energy consumption efficiency of forming the gas hydrates. The spraying device applies to thermodynamics and kinetics experiments of quick and continuous hydrate method gas separation and rapid formation of the gas hydrates.
