An adhesive comprising a solvent free powder of average particle size in the range 20 to 300 preferably 20 to 150 microns is heat activated at a temperature in the range 140° C. to 220° C., is flowable at a temperature below the heat activation temperature and is dry and non-tacky to the touch at ambient temperature, the use of a powdered adhesive is particularly useful for bonding of non-planar surfaces with complex contours.
Abstract:
The present disclosure describes compositions comprising an acrylic polymer binder and nano-particles less than about 100 nm that provide a hydrophobic or superhydrophobic coating that may also display oleophobicity. The coating composition may advantageously be prepared using VOC exempt compounds that are compatible with a variety of surface materials including many electronic components. In addition, the coating composition may also be rapidly dried rendering it useful for the rapid preparation of coated objects and surfaces in manufacturing/assembly line environments.
Abstract:
The present invention provides application of perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) onto metallic substrates to form a pinhole-free protective layer by means of electrostatic powder coating, by adding highly thermally conductive fillers such as graphite or ceramic powders/fibers/whiskers/flakes into virgin PFA powder to improve the thermal conductivity, as well as the application of the filled PFA powder onto various metallic substrates, including convoluted or finned tubes, outer or inner surfaces. Using a simple powder coating technique, a pinhole-free protective layer thinner than a PTFE covering film and with much higher thermal conductivity is produced on the metallic tubes and a physical bond is created at the interface between the PFA and the tube. These make the overall heat transfer coefficient much higher than a PTFE covered tube, which must have a thicker PTFE film to avoid pinhole and is lack of physical bond at the interface.

Disclosed is a pneumatic tire that includes a tread having a pattern asymmetrical about the tire equatorial plane, and that may reduce cavity resonance and has good steering stability. A pneumatic tire includes a tread portion having a pair of tread halves, the tread halves extending between the tire equatorial plane and respective outer ends in the tire width direction of the tread portion, respectively, and having different negative ratios. The tread portion has short fibers fixed to at least a portion of a tire inner peripheral surface of the tread portion, and one of the tread halves with a higher negative ratio has a higher short-fiber fixation area ratio than that of the other tread half.

The present invention relates to methods for repairing a structural weakness in an aircraft fuselage, or preventing the advancement of a structural weakness in an aircraft fuselage. Cold spray methods such as supersonic particle deposition have been shown to positively affect structural characteristics of sheet metal and lap joints as used in fuselage construction.
Abstract:
In a method for forming a rustproof film on a PC strand, the thickness of the resin film is set to 200±80 μm, the pre-heating is performed within a temperature range from 60 to 150° C. to prevent an occurrence of a cob-webbing phenomenon as a result of melting of the synthetic resin powder coating material and the post-heating is performed within a range from 150 to 250° C. in order to uniformize the thickness of the coats adhered to the outer peripheral surfaces of the core wire and the surrounding wires, and the temperature of the pre-heating is set to be lower than the temperature of the post-heating, and the synthetic resin powder coating material including particles having diameters in a range from 0.1 to 250 μm is used, and the line speed in the series of steps is set to 5 to 10 m/min.
