Abstract:
In order to suction the air boundary layer from a running web of material (1) before coating with a curtain-coater, a suction box (8) is arranged in the area of a roller (4) deflecting the web of material (1), said suction box having the following characteristics: a) the suction box (8) extends in its breadth along the axial length of the deflection roller (4); it is open towards the deflection roller (4) and attached to a suction blower, b) it has a corresponding seal (10, 11) on the inlet and the outlet sides, which form a gap (12, 13) with the web (1) and extend along the axial length of the deflection roller (4), wherein at least the end of the seal (10) on the inlet side and the beginning of the seal (11) on the outlet side are located on the deflection roller (4) in the deflection area of the web (1); c) the suction box (8) has a front-face seal (14) on each of the front faces of the deflection roller (4), which extend outside adjacent to the seal of the front face, parallel thereto and at a close distance thereof; d) the seal (11) on the outlet side forms an outlet gap (13) with the web (1), whose height and length measured in the direction of advancement of the web are substantially constant along the entire width of the suction box (8), wherein the length is longer than 10 mm, preferably longer than 30 mm, especially 50 mm-70 mm, and the height of the gap is selected depending on the speed of the web in such a way that the value of the product web speed (m/min)nullgap height (in mm) is less than 1500.
Abstract:
A system for spraying an at least substantially fluid material has a source providing a controllable flow of the material to be sprayed; a dosing unit that receives the flow of material from the source, that holds a quantity of the material in a reservoir, and that outputs the material to a dispensing device; and a control arrangement that has as an input signal an indication of a fill level of the reservoir and that outputs a flow control signal to the source such that the fill level in the reservoir is maintained less than a maximum level and greater than a minimum level when the dispensing device is active. The dosing unit thereby forms an active accumulator able to both receive material from the source and deliver material to the dispensing device at the same time.
Abstract:
In a coating device with a rotary atomizer, for preventing the condensation of spray cabin air on components cooled by the lower-pressure exhaust air of the drive turbine of the atomizer, a heating device is provided, which can heat air flowing through the atomizer or components in heat-conductive contact with the outlet path of the turbine exhaust air.
Abstract:
After an additive containing a reducing agent is supplied to an object to be treated, a solution containing metal ions such as a copper sulfate solution is supplied to the object to be treated. Since the additive and the solution containing the metal ions are separated, the composition of a plating solution is easily regulated.
Abstract:
There is provided a method of forming a coat on an inner surface of a bearing, in which a jig 13 is attached to a rotor 2 while holding four bearings 12 for example, so as to form those in a cylinder shape. Then, while the rotor 2 is rotated at a circumferential speed of 0.3 m/sec, a nozzle 8 for airless spraying is inserted into the rotor 2, so that the nozzle 8 injects a coating material 30 from the inside of the bearings 12 toward an inner surfaces of the bearings 12 to apply the coating material thereon. Because the coating material 30 is injected from the nozzle 8 without using compressed air, the fly amount of the coating material is made less as compared to air spray painting.
Abstract:
A system for applying a polyurethane coating to a polyolefin floor tile, comprising a conveyor for moving the floor tile past a plurality of treatment devices, including a solvent applicator, a heater, a plasma generator, an applicator, and an ultraviolet light system. The solvent applicator enables the polymer surface to be more responsive to the processes applied by the heater and plasma generator, increasing the energy of the top surface of the floor tile in preparation for the applicator to apply a liquid polyurethane to the top surface while in the energized state. The ultraviolet light system then exposes the polyurethane to ultraviolet light to at least partially cure it.
Abstract:
The automated system includes a fluid dispenser having an applicator tip which is used to apply a fluid to an object. A compliance mechanism is utilized to assist in maintaining the applicator tip of the fluid dispenser in contact with the object during the coating operation. A robot can be utilized to advance the object past the applicator tip during the coating operation. The fluid dispenser is mounted on a movable arm to allow the fluid dispenser to be moved or rotated into and away from the position where fluid is applied to the object. The automated system provides a fluid application system that can apply a precise and repeatable layer of fluid to an object. The use of the robot allows larger objects to be easily handled and for the coating process to be done in a rapid fashion. The automated system is flexible and can readily accommodate changes in the object that is to be coated or the configuration of the coating that is to be applied to the object.
Abstract:
A spray booth comprises a housing having a ceiling and a set of walls that each have a bottom end and a top end, with the walls and the ceiling defining an interior. An air intake is disposed in the ceiling, and an exhaust outlet is disposed near the bottom end of one the walls. A circulation system is used to introduce air into the interior through the intake and to exhaust air through the outlet. Further, the air intake is configured to produce a airflow gradient within the interior such that the flow rate decreases in a direction toward the outlet and such that the airflow through the interior is in a generally downward direction.
Abstract:
An inkjet printhead is provided with a high nozzle packing density. The printhead has ink feed holes for each firing chamber that are individually tuned such that the pressure drop from the reservoir to the firing chamber is held constant for all firing chambers on said printhead.
