Abstract:
A substrate processing apparatus includes a periphery removal unit configured to remove a peripheral portion of a film formed on a surface of a substrate; a profile acquisition unit configured to acquire a removal width profile indicating a relationship between a position in a circumferential direction of the substrate and a width of a portion of the substrate from which the film is removed; and a factor estimation unit configured to output factor information indicating a factor of an error in the width based on the removal width profile.
Abstract:
A method for applying a predetermined pattern of material onto an elongate tubular substrate includes securing a first portion of an elongate tube having a non-circular outer perimeter to an engagement member configured to be rotated by a first motor, such that the elongate tube can be rotated in unison with the engagement member, operating the first motor to rotate the elongate tube, operating a second motor of to change the relative displacement between the elongate tube and a dispensing conduit along a longitudinal axis of the elongate tube, and expelling a conductive adhesive from a fluid dispenser through the dispensing conduit to form a predetermined pattern of the conductive adhesive on a surface of the elongate tube, the predetermined pattern of the conductive adhesive covering at least 180 degrees of the surface along the non-circular outer perimeter over a width of at least two millimeters along the longitudinal axis.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for applying adhesive to a compressor liner having a longitudinal central axis. A first roller has a longitudinal central axis and has an outer circumferential surface which is immersed in adhesive in an adhesive sink. A second roller has a longitudinal central axis and is radially spaced apart from the first roller. The second roller has same outer diameter as the first roller and has an outer circumferential surface which is not immersed in adhesive in the adhesive sink. The first and second rollers cooperate to support the compressor liner for rotation about its longitudinal central axis. A drive mechanism includes a constant speed drive for rotating the first and second rollers about their longitudinal central axes at a constant rotational speed to allow a consistent weight and uniform layer of adhesive to be transferred from the first roller to the compressor liner.
Abstract:
A control apparatus that controls a robot having a force detection part and a movable unit including an injection part that can inject an injected material to an object, includes a processor that is configured to generate teaching data in a position of the movable unit when the movable unit is moved from the object by a first distance after sensing of contact between the movable unit and the object based on output from the force detection part.
Abstract:
A coating system for a substrate is provided. The substrate has a first portion and a second portion. The coating system includes a base adapted to receive and rotate the substrate about an axis. The coating system also includes a nozzle adapted to deposit a material on a predefined location on the substrate. The coating system further includes a controller configured to receive a signal indicative of coating the first portion of the substrate with the material. The controller is configured to determine a parameter of the material. The controller is configured to determine a parameter of the predefined location. The controller is also configured to determine a parameter of the rotation of the base. The controller is further configured to selectively control the base and the nozzle to coat the first portion of the substrate with the material based on the received signal and the determined parameters.
Abstract:
A method of pointillist painting includes receiving a dot list including a specification of color, position, size, texture, and exclusion zone of a plurality of dots, wherein the exclusion zone of a dot represents an area that does not overlap with an exclusion zone of any other of the plurality of dots and selecting a first set of dots of a first color. A colorant dispenser may be moved to a first position of a first dot in the first set. A pre-determined amount of colorant may be applied to the first position. A measured blast of air may modify coverage and profile of the applied colorant. The dispenser may then move to the remaining positions until all dots of the first color and subsequent sets of dots of subsequent colors are dispensed.
Abstract:
A system and method for coating an expandable member of a medical device comprising a support structure to support the expandable member and a dispenser positioned with at least one outlet proximate a surface of an expandable member. A drive assembly establishes relative movement between the at least one outlet and the surface of the expandable member to apply fluid on the surface of the expandable member along a coating path. A guide maintains a substantially fixed distance between the at least one outlet and the surface of the expandable member during relative movement therebetween by displacing the expandable member relative to the at least one outlet.
Abstract:
A multi-row magnetic dial assembly that conveys work pieces, such as fasteners, includes a work piece engaging surface disposed around an outer perimeter, adjacent a first dial surface and/or adjacent a second dial surface. Multiple magnets are disposed adjacent the work piece engaging surface to exert a magnetic force on work pieces to magnetically hold them against a dial. The magnets include a first magnet and a second magnet that exert magnetic forces so that the work piece engaging surface magnetically attracts and holds first and second rows (or more) of work pieces, the first row being distal from the second row by a row separation distance. The dial can be oriented in a horizontal plane or a non-horizontal plane. Related methods of operation are also provided.
Abstract:
A system and method for applying adhesive to at least a first end of a rod-shaped member, such as a cotton swab stick includes a carrier, an adhesive applicator, and a rotator device. The carrier conveys the rod-shaped member or stick in a machine direction and also allows rotation of the rod-shaped member about its longitudinal axis. The adhesive applicator includes an application surface positioned to engage the first end of the rod-shaped member. The application surface includes at least one discharge passage for applying adhesive to the first end of the rod-shaped member. The rotator device rotates the rod relative to the application surface and about its longitudinal axis as the rod-shaped member is conveyed along the application surface.
Abstract:
Compositions from 25% to 65% of a synthetic rubber block copolymer and from 75% to 35% plasticizer by weight are heated and mixed and applied, usually with a curing agent, to the lid or cover of a container such as a drum or pail. The application may take place while the lid or cover is revolved and the heated mixture is flowed on. The synthetic rubbers may be of the groups comprising SBS rubber, SIS rubber, S-EB-S rubber. The plasticizer may be from the group comprising paraffin, oils or waxes, polyethylene, polypropylene or ethyl vinyl alcohol.Apparatus is also shown and described for implementing the application of the compositions to the lid or cover as it is revolved. If a groove is formed in the cover before reception of the composition, the apparatus extrudes or flows it into the groove and then the flowed-in material is permitted to set.
