Abstract: Disclosed is a slot die coater adjusting device, which adjusts a slot die coater including a lower die having a lower discharge hole for discharging a first active material slurry and an upper die having an upper discharge hole for discharging a second active material slurry, to adjust a distance between the lower discharge hole and the upper discharge hole by allowing the upper die to move. The slot die coater adjusting device includes pressing block assemblies respectively provided to both longitudinal sides of the slot die coater and fixed to the upper die; a linear motion (LM) guide disposed at a lower portion of the pressing block assembly and connected to the pressing block assembly to guide a movement of the pressing block assembly; a servo motor configured to give a power for moving the LM guide; and a reducer connected between the servo motor and the LM guide.

Abstract: An additive manufacturing device includes a recoater configured to push powder onto a build platform. The recoater defines an advancing direction for pushing powder. A first baffle is mounted to a first end of a leading edge of the recoater and a second baffle mounted to a second end of the leading edge of the recoater opposite the first end. Each of the first and second baffles includes a base mounted to the recoater, a first wall that extends obliquely ahead of and laterally outward from the base relative to the advancing direction, and a second wall opposite the first wall. The second wall extends obliquely ahead of and laterally inward from the base relative to the advancing direction. A volume is defined between the first and second wall with capacity to collect powder as the recoater advances.

Abstract: A system for manufacturing a thermoplastic prepreg includes a double belt mechanism that is configured to compress a fiber mat, web, or mesh that is passed through the double belt mechanism, a resin applicator that is configured to apply monomers or oligomers to the fiber mat, web, or mesh, and a curing oven that is configured to effect polymerization of the monomers or oligomers and thereby form the thermoplastic polymer as the fiber mat, web, or mesh is moved through the curing oven. The double belt mechanism compresses the fiber mat, web, or mesh and the applied monomers or oligomers as the fiber mat, web, or mesh is passed through the curing oven so that the monomers or oligomers fully saturate the fiber mat, web, or mesh. Upon polymerization of the monomers or oligomers, the fiber mat, web, or mesh is fully impregnated with the thermoplastic polymer.

Abstract: A thermoplastic prepreg includes a mat, web, or fabric of fibers and hollow glass microspheres that are positioned atop the mat, web, or fabric of fibers or dispersed therein. The thermoplastic prepreg also includes a thermoplastic polymer that is fully impregnated through the mat, web, or fabric of fibers and the hollow glass microspheres so that the thermoplastic prepreg has a void content of less than 3% by volume of the thermoplastic prepreg. The thermoplastic material is polymerized monomers and oligomers in which greater than 90% by weight of the monomers or oligomers react to form the thermoplastic material.

Abstract: A grid guidance device for guiding battery grids to a battery pasting machine. The grid guidance device includes an assemblage of components that work together to adjust a position of a platform relative to a pasting orifice of the battery pasting machine. The platform receives the battery grids over it amid use of the grid guidance device. Multiple electric motors can be provided to rotate shafts for making the position adjustments. The position adjustments can involve one or more of the following: lateral positioning of the battery grids relative to the pasting orifice, advancement and retraction positioning of the platform relative to the pasting orifice, and/or raising and lowering positioning of the platform relative to the pasting orifice.
