Abstract:
A food topping and cutting device includes a handle coupled to a cutting edge, and further includes a container coupled to the handle. The container has a dispenser at one end configured to dispense, adjacent to the cutting edge, a food topping supplied from the container.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a doctor blade for the surface treatment of fibrous nonwoven webs, including a main body and a coating arranged on the surface of the main body, wherein the coating covers at least the part of the surface of the main body on which the doctor blade is provided for contact with the fibrous nonwoven web, and wherein the porosity of the coating is less on the first surface adjoining the main body than on the surface arranged opposite thereof.
Abstract:
A spin coating apparatus for applying adhesive to a substrate includes: a rotatable chuck configured to receive and hold a substrate thereon; a nozzle positioned above the rotatable chuck and configured to dispense the adhesive onto a surface of the substrate; a containment pan surrounding the rotatable chuck and configured to contain excess adhesive; a collection container in fluid communication with the containment pan; and a removal device positioned within the containment pan configured to direct the excess adhesive into the collection container.
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to a coating apparatus and method for substantially simultaneously forming a plurality of coatings on a substrate and to a method of analyzing at least one characteristic or property of the coatings.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are described for controlling a coating head, which exerts a nip pressure to a fibrous web to be coated while the fibrous web is supported by a backing roll. An output signal of a sensor integrated within the backing roll is read, thus producing a measured indication of the nip pressure. A number of actuator control values are derived at least partly from said measured indication of the nip pressure. Said actuator control values are delivered as commands to a number of respective actuators that contribute to creating the nip pressure, to control an amount of a coating substance on the fibrous web in the coating head.
Abstract:
Disclosed are fiber coating sizing applicator apparatus having a member to remove unused sizing and foreign objects from the fiber coating element of the applicator on a continuous or intermittent basis. Also disclosed are sizing applicators having as part of the drive, a servo motor for reduced variation in sizing application. Unused sizing is filtered to remove foreign objects and returned the applicator right away, or stored in a temperature controlled area until ready to feed back to a sizing applicator. Also disclosed are methods of using the sizing applicator apparatus to produce sized fibers. The apparatus and methods of the invention produce a substantial reduction in the fiber break rate, sizing usage and applicator maintenance.
Abstract:
An apparatus for use when applying a compound from a dispensing tube comprises: a receptacle; a plurality of retaining rings mechanically coupled to the receptacle for attaching the apparatus to the dispensing tube; an application blade secured within the receptacle for contacting the compound being dispensed during application; optionally, a handle mechanically coupled on an opposite side of the receptacle from the plurality of retaining rings; and, optionally, at least one retaining clip for securing at least one of the plurality of retaining rings around a nozzle tip of the dispensing tube. Such apparatus and related methods facilitate initial application of the compound in an evenly distributed and desired topographical manner without requiring subsequent smoothing and/or shaping steps after contact of the compound with a surface to which it is applied.
Abstract:
An image bearing member-protecting agent including a fatty acid metal salt and boron nitride, wherein the image bearing member-protecting agent contains the fatty acid metal salt in an amount of 60% by mass to 87% by mass, and is formed by compression molding; or an image bearing member-protecting agent including a fatty acid metal salt and boron nitride, wherein the image bearing member-protecting agent contains the fatty acid metal salt in an amount of 88% by mass to 99% by mass, and is formed by melt molding.
Abstract:
A seal coating machine and method utilizes a handle member upstanding from the front end of an enclosed housing having an open bottom. The handle member has a through channel for directing the flow of seal coating material from the handle and into the housing. One or more nozzles connected to the handle spray seal coating material into the housing and down onto asphalt pavement surfaces. As the handle of the seal coating material is pulled forward, a squeegee at the rear of the housing pushes down on and smoothes the seal coating material onto the pavement surfaces and lateral guide elements on the housing frame the edges of the applied seal coating material which is being expelled into the housing, thus ensuring that, as the seal coating machine is pulled forward, a straight line of the material is always produced along the sides of the housing.
Abstract:
A method in connection with coating, comprising a running web (8) arranged to be coated with a coating mix (11), coating means (1) arranged in connection with said web (8), a coating surface (6, 7) at the coating means (1) and arranged in contact with said web (8) to dose said coating mix (11), and said coating means (1) being provided with at least a first coating surface (6) and a second coating surface (7), in such a way that it is possible at said running web (8) to switch between the one (6) and the other (7) surfaces while at least one of said surfaces (6, 7) is in an active contact position.
