Abstract: A method of treating PVC plates as well as plates and panels manufactured by this method. The plates and panels, in particular wall, ceiling or floor panels, comprise a heat-treated carrier plate based on polyvinyl chloride with a density of, for example, 900 to 2,500 kg/m3 and a film applied thereon. The film is a thin PVC-film and comprises a decorative pattern directly printed thereon.

Abstract: A method of producing a laminated body, the method including a coagulant solution deposition step of depositing a coagulant solution on a fiber substrate, and a coagulation step of forming a polymer layer on the fiber substrate by bringing a polymer latex into contact with the fiber substrate having the coagulant solution deposited thereon to cause a polymer to coagulate. As the coagulant solution, a solution obtained by dissolving or dispersing 0.2 to 7.0% by weight of a metal salt as a coagulant and 0.1 to 7.0% by weight of an organic acid in a solvent is used. In the method of producing a laminated body, the metal salt is a polyvalent metal salt. In the method of producing a laminated body, the organic acid is an organic acid having at least one group selected from a carboxyl group, a sulfo group, a hydroxy group, and a thiol group.

A nonlimiting example of the method includes the operations of providing a workpiece having grains, exasperating a surface of the workpiece to open the grains, applying at least one coat of a base paint to the exasperated surface, applying at least one layer of clear coat on the base paint, applying at least one of a glaze and a paint on the clear coat, and surface treating to reveal grains of the workpiece. Disclosed also are items of furniture and sheet materials treated by the aforementioned process.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing, applying and fixing a multilayer surface coating (2a, 3a) on at least one surface (1a) to be coated of a host substrate (1) in order to produce a host substrate assembly. Starting with a fixative product (2) and a functional product (3) based on single-walled or multi-walled graphene, the method consists in successively applying: a layer (2a) of fixative product to the or to each surface (1a) to be coated of the host substrate (1); and a layer of the functional product to said fixative layer (2a). The assembly can be finished with a protective layer deposited directly onto the layer (3a) that contains the functional product. The invention also relates to a host substrate assembly which can be obtained by said method, a heating element, an anti-corrosion and/or anti-fouling/dirt-repelling element and a hydrophobic element each comprising such an assembly.

Abstract: One variation of a method for directly casting a thin layer onto a substrate includes: combining a prepolymer, a solvent, and a curing agent to define a viscous material; advancing a substrate from a roll across a surface continuously at a first speed; depositing the viscous material at a viscosity through a deposition head onto the substrate, the viscous material flowing laterally across the substrate to form a thin layer of substantially uniform thickness over the substrate over a period of time while the substrate advances along the surface; and, at a distance from the deposition head depositing the viscous material onto the substrate corresponding to a duration of time for the viscous material to flow laterally across the substrate, heating the viscous material to evaporate solvent and to induce reaction between the curing agent and the prepolymer to cure the viscous material to form a layer.

Abstract: The invention relates to a below grade, blind side, waterproofing sheet membrane with adhesive and high reflectivity granular particle layer, and having a top release liner, and a bottom release liner, enhancing bond strength between sheets, and be able to fully bond to concrete/shotcrete, and a method of making, and using same. The inventive waterproofing sheet membrane with adhesive, has at least one layer of high reflectivity granular particle layer that are fully or partly embedded into the adhesive layer, and where the average reflectivity of the exposed granular particles is between about 35 percent to 80 percent reflectivity on a standard reflectivity scale. The waterproofing sheet membrane has an adhesive layer having embedded therein high reflectivity granular particles is used in any building or wall construction, and can be placed under or around a foundation of a building or on its below grade blind side retaining walls, etc.
