Abstract: A process of atomic layer deposition for the deposition of silicon oxide on a substrate, performed at room temperature, involving at least three precursors, being silicon tetrachloride, water and one Lewis base agent, being in various instances ammonia. The process comprises the steps of exposing on the substrate during an exposure time (a) the one Lewis base agent, (b) the silicon tetrachloride, and (c) the water. The process is remarkable in that at least one step of purge with nitrogen gas is performed after each of the steps (a), (b) and (c) during a purge time. Additionally, a film of silicon oxide which is remarkable in that it comprises a low level of chlorine contaminant and a significant degree of porosity with pores, the pores being in various instances micropores, mesopores or nanopores.

Abstract: In a first aspect of the present invention, a rubber composition is provided, comprising at least one rubber, at least one filler, at least one thermoplastic polymer, wherein the thermoplastic polymer is a poly alkylacrylate, and wherein the alkylacrylate comprises a polycyclic substituent at its single bonded oxygen atom. In another aspect of the invention, an article of manufacture such as a tire, a power transmission belt, a hose, a track, an air sleeve, and a conveyor belt is provided which comprises the rubber composition in accordance with the first aspect.

Abstract: A system comprising a display provided with zones, a token, a proximity sensor for detecting the proximity of a token to one zone and a processor to register in a memory an association upon the detection of the proximity of the token to the zone. The association is logged as a set of data comprising the data of which a representation is made on the zone in the proximity of which the token has been brought. The processor is programmed to update a log file with the logged association. The processor performs an operation in accordance with the content of the log file.

Abstract: The invention is directed to mass spectrometer comprising an extraction system for secondary ions. The system comprises: an inner spherical deflecting sector; an outer spherical deflecting sector; a deflecting gap formed between the sectors; a housing in which the sectors are arranged. The deflecting sectors (42; 44) are biased at retarding gap (46). The system further comprises an exit disc electrode with an exit through hole centered about the exit axis, the intermediate electrode being biased at an intermediate voltage between the voltage of the housing and the average voltage of the sectors. The trajectories of the secondary ions become more parallel to the exit axis and become closer to the axis.

Abstract: An apparatus for producing ventral images of aquatic organisms, such as amphibians, for example, of newts the apparatus comprising a hollow conduct and a watertight container. The hollow conduct has a first opening and a second opening being opposed from each other. The hollow conduct and the watertight container are separated by a wall which transmits the wavelengths comprised between 390 nm and 1.4 μm. The apparatus is opaque to the wavelengths comprised between 390 nm and 1.4 μm. The watertight container comprises an underwater video camera oriented towards the wall. The apparatus is remarkable in that the watertight container is positioned below the hollow conduct, the watertight container being filled with clean water.
