    Abstract: An integrated exhaust rocker arm assembly capable of selectively enabling an engine braking mode includes an inner body, an outer body, and a switchable system for selectively operatively coupling the outer body to the inner body. The inner body includes a secondary roller. The outer body includes a cam end, a valve end, and a main roller. The valve end includes a brake capsule that comprises another switchable system configured to selectively extend a plunger body to act on a valve bridge. The valve end further includes a lost motion mechanism that permits selective translation of a lost motion shaft along a lost motion receiving passage for transmitting integrated exhaust rocker arm motion to the valve bridge.

    Abstract: An actuation arrangement for actuating a plurality of latching arrangements of a respective plurality of dual body rocker arms of a valve train assembly of an internal combustion engine includes: a first shaft comprising one or more first selector cam for controlling the latching arrangements of a first group of one or more of the dual body rocker arms; and a second shaft comprising one or more second selector cams for controlling the latching arrangements of a second group of one or more of the dual body rocker arms. At least a portion of the first shaft is received in the second shaft, and the first shaft and the second shaft are controllable to rotate independently of one another, thereby to allow control of the latching arrangements of the dual body rocker arms on a per group basis.

    Abstract: An actuation apparatus for actuating a component of a switchable valve train device of an internal combustion engine including: a shaft; an actuation lever mounted on the shaft for pivotal motion of the actuation lever between a first position for actuation of the component and a second position for de-actuation of the component; and a biasing means for urging the actuation lever from the second position towards the first position. In use, the biasing means is biased when an actuation source attempts to cause the actuation lever to be in the first position when the component is non-actuatable, such that the biasing means causes the actuation lever to pivot from the second position to the first position, thereby to actuate the component when the component becomes actuatable again.

    Abstract: A valve train arrangement constructed in accordance to one example of the present teachings includes a rocker arm, a deactivating hydraulic lash adjuster (HLA) capsule, a lost motion spring (LMS) capsule and a lever. The rocker arm has a first end and a second end. The second end cooperates with a valve. The HLA capsule cooperates with the first end of the rocker arm. The LMS capsule has a lost motion spring. The LMS capsule is located in a position on the valve train arrangement that is offset from the HLA capsule. The lever is configured between the HLA capsule and the LMS capsule. During cylinder deactivation, load is transferred from the HLA capsule to the lever arm and ultimately to the lost motion spring in the LMS capsule.

The rocker shaft can define a pressurized oil supply conduit. The rocker arm can receive the rocker shaft and is configured to rotate around the rocker shaft. The rocker arm can have an oil supply passage defined therein. A valve bridge can engage a first exhaust valve and a second exhaust valve. A hydraulic lash adjuster assembly can include first and second plunger bodies, the first plunger body can engage the valve bridge.
