    Abstract: A rocker arm assembly for pivoting around a rocker shaft comprises a follower side arm, a valve side arm, and a latch assembly. The follower side arm comprises a main body (1016, 2016, 3016), a rocker shaft through-bore (1061), and a follower end (11, 21, 31) comprising a latch through-bore (1019, 2019, 3019). The valve side arm comprises a forked body (1026, 2026) and a valve end (12,22) extending from the forked body. A first arm extension (1025, 2025, 3025) and a second arm extension (1028, 2028, 3028) extend from the forked body and straddle the main body. A first distal end (1125, 2125) comprises a first latch pocket (51) distal from the forked body. A second distal end (1128, 2128) comprises a second latch pocket (81) distal from the forked body. The latch through-bore selectively aligns with the first latch pocket and the second latch pocket.

    Abstract: A valve train arrangement constructed in accordance to one example of the present teachings includes a rocker arm, a deactivating hydraulic lash adjuster (HLA) capsule, a lost motion spring (LMS) capsule and a lever. The rocker arm has a first end and a second end. The second end cooperates with a valve. The HLA capsule cooperates with the first end of the rocker arm. The LMS capsule has a lost motion spring. The LMS capsule is located in a position on the valve train arrangement that is offset from the HLA capsule. The lever is configured between the HLA capsule and the LMS capsule. During cylinder deactivation, load is transferred from the HLA capsule to the lever arm and ultimately to the lost motion spring in the LMS capsule.

    Abstract: An engine system and valvetrain can comprise a rocker shaft combined with a first block, a first cylinder deactivation oil control valve in the first block, a second cylinder deactivation oil control valve in the first block. Also, a second block can be combined with the rocker shaft with a third cylinder deactivation oil control valve and an early exhaust valve opening oil control valve in the second block. The rocker shaft can comprise oil infeeds and oil outfeeds configured for supplying hydraulic pressure to the first and second blocks, the blocks can distribute the pressure to the control valves, and the blocks can return pressure to the rocker shaft. Intake and exhaust rocker arms can receive the returned pressure to actuate valves, and the rockers arms can be arranged line-to-line with no overlap during motion.
