The secondary combustion chamber includes a refractory-lined cyclone separator for removing fly ash from combustion gases exiting the primary combustion chamber and the boiler inlet is surrounded by the cyclone separator. The primary combustion chamber may further include an ash transfer ram movably disposed between two stepped hearths, wherein the ash transfer ram includes a top layer of refractory material extending rearwardly from a leading edge thereof. The ash transfer ram may further include a plurality of V-shaped wheels attached to a bottom surface thereof, a replaceable wear plate disposed on a side surface thereof and/or a wiper blade fixed on a forward face thereof. At least one hearth may include two spaced rows of air feed-tubes longitudinally embedded therein for delivering a combustion gas into the combustion chamber. The air-feed tubes may intersect with an air distribution plenum for simultaneously delivering the combustion gas to the air feed-tubes. The primary combustion chamber may further include a reciprocating loader ram movably disposed on the top surface of the top-most hearth for pushing combustible material on the top-most hearth, wherein the loader ram has a bottom surface and at least one longitudinally extending replaceable wear strip disposed thereon.
Abstract:
An electrical connector assembly is provided for terminating a plurality of electrical wires. A non-conductive connector housing mounts a plurality of signal terminals. A wire management module includes a non-conductive body mounting a plurality of ground terminals. The body positions a plurality of signal conductors and a plurality of ground conductors of the electrical wires, the ground conductors being terminated to the ground terminals. The ground terminals interengage with the connector housing to mount the wire management module to the housing with the signal wire conductors in position for termination to the signal terminals.
Abstract:
A multifunctional infrared spectrometer system has an interferometer which receives the infrared beam from a source and provides a modulated output beam on beam paths to multiple spatially separated infrared detectors. A multi-position mirror element mounted at a junction position receives the beam on a main beam path and directs it on branch beam paths to sample positions, with the beam then being directed on the branch beam path to one of the detectors. One of the branch beam paths may include a sample holder at the sample position which can index between a position at which a sample is analyzed, to a reference material position, to a pass-through position for calibration purposes. The multi-position mirror element may also be indexed to direct the beam on a branch path to a fiber optic cable which has a probe at the end of it which may be inserted in a sample fluid or powder to be analyzed, with the reflected light from the probe being directed back on an optical fiber cable to a detector at the spectrometer. The multi-position mirror element may be moved to a position at which the beam is directed on a beam path to and through an integrating sphere to a solid sample, with the reflected light from the sample being directed by the surfaces of the integrating sphere to a detector. A detector may be mounted to detect the light transmitted through the sample to obtain measurements of both reflected and transmitted infrared light at the sample.
Abstract:
An electrical connector is provided for mounting on a printed circuit board and includes an elongated dielectric housing having a front mating end and a rear terminating end. A plurality of signal terminals are mounted on the housing and are spaced longitudinally thereof. Each signal terminal includes a contact portion at the mating end of the housing and a tail portion at the terminating end of the housing. A plurality of ground plates are mounted on the housing between at least some of the signal terminals. Each ground plate includes a body portion, a front portion and a tail portion. The signal terminals are disposed substantially within the longitudinal profiles of the body portions and front portions of the ground plates in a direction longitudinally of the housing, with the tail portions of the ground plates projecting rearwardly of the profiles.
Abstract:
Agents having the structure,U--CH.sub.2 --V--CH.sub.2 --W,and agents having the structure,U--CH.sub.2 --V--CH.sub.2 --W--X--Y--Z,where U, W, and Z are double fused aromatic rings, V is a single six-membered aromatic ring with a hydroxyl group constituent, X is a polar group, and Y is a positively charged group, are disclosed. The double fused aromatic rings can be a five-membered aromatic ring, or a six-membered aromatic ring, fused to a six-membered aromatic ring; the double fused aromatic rings can comprise heteroatoms. The agents can be used as capsid stabilizing or antiviral agents.
Abstract:
An intraoral imaging system includes a receiving module that communicates with an imaging display device. The imaging device includes handle having a transmitter module and a power source as well as neck and head portions that extend from the handle. The device includes a camera module that rotates in the distal and proximal direction to view and process still images and video. The camera module includes a movable image sensor to provide focus capability. The imaging device further includes a control assembly having a plurality of control members. The control assembly includes image capture controls that an operator engages in a lateral motion to capture images or video. A focus control member controls the spatial relationship between the image sensor and the stationary lens and an articulation control member to articulate the camera module to provide a greater range of imaging.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus creates and manages persistent memory (PM) in a multi-node computing system. A PM Manager in the service node creates and manages pools of nodes with various sizes of PM. A node manager uses the pools of nodes to load applications to the nodes according to the size of the available PM. The PM Manager can dynamically adjust the size of the PM according to the needs of the applications based on historical use or as determined by a system administrator. The PM Manager works with an operating system kernel on the nodes to provide persistent memory for application data and system metadata. The PM Manager uses the persistent memory to load applications to preserve data from one application to the next. Also, the data preserved in persistent memory may be system metadata such as file system data that will be available to subsequent applications.
