    Abstract: The present invention provides a process for removing catalyst fine particles from a hydrocarbon product, the process including providing at least one nanofiltration membrane to remove the catalyst fine particles from the hydrocarbon product, the catalyst fine particles comprising a particle size of 0.1 microns or less, contacting the hydrocarbon product at a feed side of the nanofiltration membrane, recovering a catalyst fines-depleted stream at a permeate side of the nanofiltration membrane, recovering a catalyst fines-enriched stream at a retentate side of the nanofiltration membrane, and wherein the catalyst fines-enriched stream comprises the catalyst fine particles removed from the hydrocarbon product, the catalyst fine particles comprising a particle size of 0.1 microns or less.

    Abstract: A rotary steerable drill string (16) employs a drill bit (10) selected to positively contribute to underpressure in a preselected azimuthal segment of the borehole relative to an opposing azimuthal section. Generally, a high flow velocity of drilling fluid in the selected azimuthal segment relative to in other segments will result in a more pronounced underpressure in the selected azimuthal segment. Drill bit designs which locally enhance the drilling fluid flow velocity are proposed to be employed in the present rotary steerable drill string.

    Abstract: Process for the preparation of hydrogen by reacting a feed gas comprising methane and carbon monoxide with steam in the presence of a steam reforming catalyst at a pressure of at least 15 bara in the heated zone of a steam reformer to obtain a raw hydrogen containing product stream, wherein (a) the feed gas is mixed with the steam before entering the steam reformer resulting in a reaction mixture of the feed gas and steam having a temperature below 540° C.; and (b) the reaction mixture obtained in step (a) is fed into the heated zone of the steam reformer where it is first contacted with an inert material before it is contacted with the steam reforming catalyst.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing a residual base oil from a hydrocarbon feed which is derived from a Fischer-Tropsch process, the process comprises the steps of: (a) providing a hydrocarbon feed which is derived from a Fischer-Tropsch process; (b) subjecting the hydrocarbon feed of step (a) to a hydrocracking/hydroisomerisation step to obtain an at least partially isomerised product; (c) separating at least part of the at least partially isomerised product as obtained in step (b) into one or more lower boiling fractions and a hydrowax residue fraction; (d) catalytic dewaxing of the hydrowax residue fraction of step (c) to obtain a highly isomerised product; (e) separating the highly isomerised product of step (d) into one or more light fractions and a isomerised residual fraction; (f) mixing of the isomerised residual fraction of step (e) with a diluent to obtain a diluted isomerised residual fraction; (g) cooling the diluted isomerised residual fraction of step (f) to a temperature between 0° C. and −60° C.; (i) subjecting the mixture of step (g) to a centrifuging step at a temperature between 0° C. and −60° C. to isolate the wax from the diluted isomerised residual fraction; (j) separating the diluent from the diluted isomerised residual fraction to obtain a residual base oil.
