Abstract:
A massaging system and method that includes a base carrying a massager head, carriage and drive arrangement resiliently biased by a massager suspension arrangement formed by part of a resilient deformable person support disposed between the massager head and a person supporting surface upon which a person being massaged by the massaging system. The massager suspension arrangement is formed by part of the resilient deformable person support that can be formed of foam, preferably memory foam, which provides or defines a spring of the suspension arrangement capture in compression.
Abstract:
A gas supply system comprises a person-support surface, a garment, and a gas supply. The person-support surface includes a chamber configured to contain a gas therein. The garment includes a chamber configured to contain a gas therein. The gas supply is configured to supply a gas to both the garment and the person-support surface.
Abstract:
An adjustable bed frame assembly includes a mattress retaining bracket secured to the adjustable bed frame assembly in a shipment orientation for shipping the adjustable bed frame assembly, wherein the mattress retaining bracket, when re-secured in a mattress securing orientation, stops the mattress from sliding during operation of the actuator. The retaining bracket may be secured to the mattress platform. In embodiments, the retaining bracket is secured to the head end of the mattress platform, while in other embodiments, the retaining bracket is secured to the foot end of the mattress platform.
Abstract:
A care delivery system includes a bed (20) having a bed-side interface unit (B), an appliance set (90) comprising one or more appliances (99) and two or more appliance-side interface units (A) distributed among the appliances, and a set (124) of one or more adaptors (126) each having a host interface unit (H) compatible with the bed-side interface unit, and a client interface unit (C). Each adaptor is arranged to accommodate fluid flow between its host interface unit and its client interface unit. Each client interface unit of the adaptor set, taken individually, is compatible with at least one but fewer than all of the appliance-side interface units of the appliance set and, taken collectively, are compatible with all of the appliance-side interface units of the appliance set. The system also includes an appliance annunciator (140) and an appliance discriminator (76) responsive to the annunciator thereby configuring the system for the pneumatic demands of the appliance.
Abstract:
This invention described herein includes methods and apparatuses for externally delivering therapeutic stimulation to animals and humans to help improve their health, condition and performance. The invention includes various wearable, attachable, and embeddable devices that deliver multiple forms of therapeutic stimulation or vibration such as mechanical, tonal, audio, light, and electrical pulses.
Abstract:
A therapeutic support device includes a bladder having one or more independently inflatable compartments, each including a plurality of inflatable cells. When inflated, each inflatable cell forms a contact node that may support a user or another object disposed thereon. The inflatable compartments can be alternately inflated and deflated such that contact pressure can be applied to and relieved from corresponding portions of the user's body in an alternating manner.
Abstract:
A gas supply system comprises a person-support surface, a garment, and a gas supply. The person-support surface includes a chamber configured to contain a gas therein. The garment includes a chamber configured to contain a gas therein. The gas supply is configured to supply a gas to both the garment and the person-support surface.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a handheld adjustable bed remote control that may comprise a circular group of input buttons. A first input button in the circular group of input buttons, upon activation, may control a head position of an adjustable bed. A second input button in the circular group of input buttons, upon activation, may control a foot position of the adjustable bed. A centrally located button may be positioned at an approximate center of the circular group of input buttons. The central button, upon activation, may cause the adjustable bed to return to a flat position.
Abstract:
An inflatable massaging mattress, comprising: —an air compressor (16), —a cyclic distributor (14) for the air originating from said compressor (16), —a plurality n of flexible tubes (121-1214) connected to said distributor, —a flexible sheet (2) of air-impermeable plastic material onto which a second sheet (6) is welded along longitudinal lines (4) to form n conduits (81-814) closed at one end (10), each conduit (81-814) being connected at its other end to one of said tubes (121-1214), —m groups of n mutually adjacent but separated air chambers disposed transverse to the axis of the sheets, each conduit (81-814) being connected to one of the n air chambers (20) of each of the m groups by washers (24) of heat-activatable glue.
