Abstract:
A method for treatment of skin and sub-dermis by a housing. The housing accommodates two adjacent vacuum chambers sharing at least one common wall between them. The chambers a coupled to a surface of skin and the air pressure in the chambers is alternated such as to effect back and forth massaging movement of skin tissue in parallel to the surface of said skin.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a stimulation device comprising a first arm (2) having a first proximal end portion (2a) and a distal end portion (2b) adapted to be inserted into a vagina and a second arm (4) having a proximal end portion (4a) and a distal end portion (4b) adapted to get into contact with a body portion outside the vagina, wherein the first arm (2) and the second arm (4) are provided for being connected with each other at their respective proximal end portion (2a; 4) so as to form an essentially U- or V-shaped arrangement. According to the present invention, the stimulation device comprises coupling means (6, 10) adapted to provide a releasable connection of the first and second arms (2, 4) at their respective proximal end portion (2a; 4a).
Abstract:
An applicator for use in treating a portion of skin includes an applicator tip that has an end configured to contact the portion of skin, a sonic source mechanically coupled to the applicator tip, a heat source thermally coupled to an end of the applicator tip, and a controller. The applicator tip includes a thermally-conductive material. During operation of the applicator, the controller controls operation of the sonic source to impart mechanical movements to the applicator tip at a sonic frequency and controls operation of the heat source to transfer heat to the end of the applicator tip via the thermally-conductive material of the applicator tip.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods relate to a pneumatic compression therapy device configured to suggest content to the patient based on a determined disease state, the content pertaining to suggested changes in lifestyle based on a standard of care. In an illustrative embodiment, the suggested changes may include modifications to treatment location, treatment time, diet, eating habits, or sleeping schedule. Various examples may further sample the patient's health and automatically adjust a treatment parameter within a predetermined parameter range based on a history of measured parameters, such as limb volume, for example. In coordination with the therapeutic treatment, the therapy device may deliver suggested content to guide the patient to make more healthful lifestyle choices to reduce recovery time and improve patient health outcomes.
Abstract:
A portable battery power operated chiropractic adjusting instrument, manipulator or thruster for applying a selectable adjustment energy impulse to a patient through a plunger having a resilient or cushioned head with the energy impulse applied to the plunger being supplied by a solenoid. The adjusting instrument can have annunciators or indicators for preload, readiness to operate, level of energy impulse and the like. The power source can be an internal rechargeable battery or removable rechargeable battery pack.

Abstract:
The present invention is generally directed a device configured to contact/stimulate a portion of the upper vagina to enhance sexual pleasure, increase the likelihood and/or intensity of orgasm, and/or increase vaginal lubrication, elasticity and/or vascularity. An upper portion of the device adjacent the cephalad end is configured to fit within the upper vagina of a woman such that an outer surface of the upper portion is in abutting contact with at least a portion of the upper vagina walls. The device is configured such that the upper portion can be moved to apply pulses of pressure against at least a portion of the upper vagina walls to stimulate erogenous zones in the region.
Abstract:
A system and method for treating, inhibiting or ameliorating Alzheimer's disease in a patient, comprising one or more transducers operatively connected to a power source for radiating vibrational or acoustical energy to the maxilla of the patient, wherein the energy is sufficient to radiate through the paranasal sinuses of the patient to the base of the patient's skull to assist in cerebrospinal fluid clearance and inhibit localized stasis of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain.
Abstract:
Devices, systems and methods are provided for treating migraine headaches and other conditions by non-invasive electrical stimulation of nerves and other tissue. A hand-held device includes a housing with a controller having a signal generator, an electrode for delivering electrical signals, and a conductive surface configured as a return path for the electrical signals. In certain implementations, the electrode is repositionable with respect to the housing. The patient can self-apply the hand-held device by pressing it against areas in need of pain relief. The device may include a pressure-sensitive gating switch to control delivery of the stimulation therapy. In certain embodiments, the electrode is a rollerball electrode. The device may include a chamber for retaining and dispensing conductive gel to the therapy site. In certain approaches, the device includes an electrode support for coupling an electrical stimulation system to the head for hands-free electrical stimulation therapy.
Abstract:
A facial muscle toner system is provided that includes, in some embodiments, a base unit and a hand piece unit. The base unit optionally includes a display portion at a front face and a command portion including one or more keys. The hand piece unit is operably connected to the base unit and is located remotely from the base unit. The hand piece unit includes a housing having a receptacle portion and a therapy distribution instrument extending from the receptacle portion. The therapy distribution instrument is configured to distribute therapy to sub-dermal facial muscles.
