Abstract: Techniques and systems for robotic aquaculture are described. In one embodiment, for example, a mariculture system may include an aquatic animal containment system operative to hold a population of aquatic animals, the aquatic animal containment system comprising an enclosed hull having a receptacle configured to receive a mechanical core, the mechanical core configured to store at least one sub-system to implement at least one function of mariculture system, and a position management system operative to maintain the enclosed hull at a depth below a surface of a body of water. Other embodiments are described.

Abstract: A continuous perfusion bioreactor for microbial synthesis of metallic nanoparticles provides synthesis of nanoparticles without washout of the microbial cells. The perfusion bioreactor includes an inlet fluidically coupled to a holding compartment with a first flow barrier, which disperses the medium into a reaction compartment suitable for culture of microbial cells which synthesize nanoparticles. A second flow barrier in the reaction compartment prevents washout of the microbial cells but enables collection of the nanoparticles suspended in depleted nutrient medium.

Abstract: The invention provides a microwave plasma adaptive rock breaking device for microwave-insensitive rocks and a using method thereof, and relates to the technical field of rock breaking. Under the premise that only a microwave source is used to supply energy, the combined action of ordinary microwave irradiation and plasma irradiation in the form of high-temperature flame is realized, and a full-section hard rock tunnel boring machine is in cooperation for breaking rocks, so that the problem of microwave-induced cracks of the microwave-insensitive rocks is solved, and the application scope of a microwave rock breaking technology is enlarged.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for sensing a molecule in a sample. The apparatus utilizes an electric field to draw molecules from a first chamber through an aperture, defined by a chemical layer, into a second chamber. The apparatus can detect a DNA molecule with, for example, 4, 5, or 6 unique base pairs. As molecules pass through the aperture, a sensor detects or measures a change in an electric parameter used to generate the electric field, thereafter translating the change in the electric parameter into information about the molecule. A divider element separates the first and second chambers and supports a chemical layer defining the aperture. The apparatus enables detection or measurement of molecules over prolonged time at a higher electric field strength than other nanopores, due to a combination of the shape of the divider, structural elements thereon, and thickness of the chemical layer at the aperture.

Abstract: A portable wireless neuromonitoring device can be used to diagnose and/or treat conditions of the brain and vision system. The device includes a sensor unit mountable on the head of a human subject and capable of recording signals from the brain in EEG and/or EFEG (electric field encephalography) mode, and the device can be used for simultaneous stimulus display and recording with latency of less than 1 millisecond. The device also includes electrodes that allow rapid set-up and measurement with low impedance contact with the scalp. The device can also be used in conjunction with virtual reality or alternate reality environments.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the technical field of solid waste recycling and fabricated buildings, and provides a solid waste large-mixing-amount concrete prefabricated laminated slab and a preparation method thereof. The solid waste large-mixing-amount concrete prefabricated laminated slab provided by the present disclosure comprises a prefabricated layer and a laminated layer. Transverse grooves and longitudinal grooves are formed in the surface of the prefabricated layer. During application, the grooves can be used for erecting pipelines, the contact area of the prefabricated layer and the laminated layer can also be increased, the combined effect of new concrete and old concrete is improved, the integrity of a floor slab is enhanced, and the effect of improving the overall stress capacity of the floor slab is achieved.

Abstract: A system and method for beam management in a wireless network are provided. A learning module having a trained classification module processes received I/Q input samples to determine transmitted beam information of incoming RF transmissions. The learning module includes a beam inference engine to determine waveforms waveform characteristics of incoming RF transmissions beams, and an angle of arrival engine operative to determine an angle of arrival of the incoming RF transmissions beams on an antenna array. An incoming RF transmission beam and angle of arrival are selected based on the determined waveforms for beam management operations.
