Abstract:
A filter unit includes a body portion having a proximal end and a distal end. An engagement protrusion extends from the proximal end. The engagement protrusion includes a first portion that has a first radius of curvature and a second portion opposing the first portion that has a second radius of curvature that is larger than the first radius of curvature. A protruding retention surface is disposed on and extends radially outward from the body portion. The protruding retention surface is adapted to secure the filter unit in a filter head assembly.
Abstract:
A filtration cartridge of a cartridge-based filtration system is provided that includes annular ring arrangements on one or more end caps and the shell of the filtration cartridge. Once engaged, the annular ring arrangements form a coefficient of friction between the end cap(s) and the shell to create a substantially water-tight seal between the end cap(s) and the shell of the filtration cartridge. Annular locking arrangements may be included in addition to, or in lieu of, the annular ring arrangements to lock the end cap(s) to the shell when the filtration cartridge is utilized in high-pressure applications.
Abstract:
A ultra-violet liquid processing device comprises a liquid processor, a lamp holder, a latching mechanism provided within the lamp holder, and a lamp holder fixed cover provided with a lock hole therein. The latching mechanism comprises a locking dog able to extend from or retract into the lamp holder and a water nozzle blocker. When the lamp holder is pressed on the liquid processor and connected with the liquid processor by lamp holder fixed cover, the locking dog projects from the lamp holder and enter into the lock hole of the lamp holder fixed cover, so that the lamp holder fixed cover is locked and cannot move. By means of the lamp holder fixed cover being locked by the latching mechanism and not able to be moved, the ultra-violet liquid processing device is sealed reliably by means of the substantial structure.
Abstract:
A water filter system includes a removable filter unit having a body portion including a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end is adapted to be inserted into a filter head assembly. A laterally extending key member is disposed on the body portion and adapted to engage a key slot in the filter head assembly. An engagement protrusion extends from the proximal end. The engagement protrusion includes a first portion that has a first radius of curvature and a second portion opposing the first portion that includes a second radius of curvature that is larger than the first radius of curvature.
Abstract:
In a method for treating a liquid medium by reverse osmosis in a cyclic process, the pressure to the upstream side of the reverse osmosis membrane is generated by transferring the power of a basically free-falling weight to a hydraulic cylinder which generates the high pressure needed to overcome the osmotic pressure of the liquid medium. The system performing the method uses a weight medium capable of travelling vertically between an initial and terminal position. The power thereby generated is transmitted to a hydraulic cylinder containing the liquid medium which is subjected to a high pressure and delivered to the upstream side of a reverse osmosis unit. At the end of the process cycle the weight medium is released from the weight vessel, and a following cycle is initiated, refilling the hydraulic cylinder with untreated liquid medium
Abstract:
A sleeve holder assembly for a radiation source is disclosed. The sleeve holder assembly comprises: an elongate radiation transparent sleeve element; a sleeve holder receptacle portion coupled to the elongate radiation transparent sleeve element; a sleeve bolt assembly portion coupled to the sleeve holder receptacle portion; a first sealing element disposed between the sleeve holder receptacle portion and the sleeve bolt assembly portion; and a locking element configured to prevent decoupling of the sleeve bolt assembly portion and the sleeve holder receptacle portion. The first sealing element is configured to provide a substantially fluid impermeable seal between the elongate radiation transparent sleeve element and the sleeve holder receptacle portion.

A spiral wound element and a seal assembly comprising: a ring-shaped seal disposed about a portion of an outer periphery of the element, a secondary pathway and a valve that selectively permits fluid flow through the secondary pathway.
Abstract:
A seawater desalination system which can solve a problem of wear of a sliding member and can suppress mixing of concentrated seawater and seawater by making an energy exchange chamber no-piston configuration is provided. In a seawater desalination system for producing fresh water from seawater by passing the seawater pressurized by a pump through a reverse-osmosis membrane-separation apparatus (4) to separate the seawater into fresh water and concentrated seawater, an energy exchange chamber (20) for utilizing pressure energy of the concentrated seawater discharged from the reverse-osmosis membrane-separation apparatus (3) as energy for pressurizing part of the seawater is provided. The energy exchange chamber includes a concentrated seawater port (P1) for introducing and discharging the concentrated seawater, a seawater port (P2) for introducing and discharging the seawater, and a plurality of partitioned fluid passages (R) provided in the chamber to allow the concentrated seawater port (P1) and the seawater port (P2) to communicate with each other.
