Abstract:
According to one embodiment, an ultraviolet irradiation device that sterilizes, disinfects, and inactivates raw water such as city water or underground water, includes a water processing vessel, an ultraviolet sensor, and a controller. The water processing vessel includes a water supply port into which the raw water flows, at least a pair of ultraviolet lamps configured to irradiate the raw water that flows into the water processing vessel with ultraviolet rays, and a water discharge port from which the raw water irradiated with the ultraviolet rays is discharged. The ultraviolet sensor is configured to measure an amount of ultraviolet rays irradiated from the ultraviolet lamps. The controller is configured to control turnon and turnoff of the ultraviolet lamps.
Abstract:
An ultraviolet irradiation water treatment apparatus includes a vessel having a cylindrical side portion, and plural rod-shaped ultraviolet lamps are disposed in parallel with a central axis of the side portion in the vessel. A water inlet pipe through which water flows into the vessel is provided in an outer wall of the side portion at a position in a tangential direction of an inner periphery of the side portion.
Abstract:
A device for on-line radiating gas-containing liquid with light that can mix ozone and water, and radiate the same on-line as well as remove accretions on protective sheaths (preferably quartz tubes) of the device to reduce energy loss. Ozone and water is mixed in a gas-liquid mixer of the device and the ozone-water mixture is guided by a conduct of a gas-liquid separator of the device and spayed out to be radiated by multiple UV lamps protected by the protective sheaths. The accretions on the protective sheaths are removed by scraper mechanisms of a washing assembly of the device.
Abstract:
There is described a water disinfection apparatus comprising a channel for defining a flow of water, and plural ultraviolet light sources, each comprising an elongate ultraviolet lamp unit comprising at least one ultraviolet bulb and defining an elongate lamp unit axis; and a microwave unit comprising a microwave energy source for exciting the at least one ultraviolet bulb. In use, at least part of the elongate lamp unit encounters the flow of water.
Abstract:
Ballast water treatment apparatus and methods for preventing foreign aquatic invasive species form entering marine ecological zones by translocation in ship's ballast water. The apparatus includes a housing, a filter member, and UV water treatment chambers. Methods include use of a ship's fire hydrant system or ballast water discharge port for moving ballast water from the ship's ballast tanks into the apparatus for filtration and treatment. In-port service vessels and barges as well as dock-side service vehicles are equipped with the various treatment and filtration apparatus to provided in-port or dock-side ballast water treatment services. Related methods are also provided.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cleaning rotor (1) having a longitudinal axis (L), a base part (5), which extends concentric to the longitudinal axis (L), a head part (3) and a strut element (9) that extends between the base part and the head part. Said strut element (9) extends in a helical manner about the longitudinal axis (L). The invention is characterized in that at least one supporting part (7) is placed between the base part (3) and the head part (3) while extending parallel to the longitudinal axis (L). The strut element (9) is supported on the supporting part (7) and is concave over its length.
Abstract:
A water treatment system that performs a water purifying treatment by use of ultraviolet radiation, comprises a front stage ultraviolet radiation device for radiating ultraviolet light in a front stage process in a water purifying treatment process, a rear stage ultraviolet radiation device for radiating ultraviolet light in a rear stage process, and a controller for controlling these ultraviolet radiation devices.
Abstract:
A UV sterilization system with autocleaning structure comprises scrubbing collars, at least one cleaning liquid box and at least one sliding bar. Said cleaning means further comprises at least one towing bar, at least one sliding bar and at least one supporting bar. The boxes are vertically mounted on or fixed to the supporting bar(s) to form together with the supporting bar(s) a rectangular shape. A cleaning liquid addition port and a cleaning liquid drain port are respectively provided at the top and close to the bottom of each cleaning liquid box. Said cleaning liquid addition port is connected with a cleaning liquid supply pipe and the cleaning liquid drain port is closed by a detachable sealing member. Several sets of holes with the same diameter for scrubbing collars are provided on the opposite sides of each box with each set at the same height. Each UV lamp is separately installed within a protective sleeve passing through the scrubbing collars. Each towing bar is fixed to the outside of the cleaning liquid box and is connected with the sliding bar and the piston rod of the driving device. The present device according to the invention can be used for the sterilization of fluid such as sewage, tap water, etc.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for electrolytically controlling the formation of scale and biofilm in water purification and other systems. An anode is deposited on or disposed on or adjacent to a surface, such as that of a quartz UV tube, providing a low pH environment which inhibits the formation of carbonate scale and biofilm.
