    Abstract: An infrared sensor comprises a base substrate including a recess, a bolometer infrared ray receiver, and a Peltier device. The bolometer infrared ray receiver comprises a resistance variable layer, a bolometer first beam, and a bolometer second beam. The Peltier device comprises a Peltier first beam formed of a p-type semiconductor material and a Peltier second beam formed of an n-type semiconductor material. The Peltier device is in contact with a back surface of the bolometer infrared ray receiver. One end of each of the bolometer first beam, the bolometer second beam, the Peltier first beam, and the Peltier second beam is connected to the base substrate. The bolometer infrared ray receiver and the Peltier device are suspended above the base substrate. Each of the bolometer first beam, the bolometer second beam, the Peltier first beam, and the Peltier second beam has a phononic crystal structure including a plurality of through holes arranged regularly.

    Abstract: A surgical system includes a first detector that includes a first array of pixels configured to detect light reflected by a surgical instrument and generate a first signal comprising a first dataset representative of a visible image of the surgical instrument. The surgical system also includes a second detector, comprising a second array of pixels configured to detect infrared radiation produced by the surgical instrument during a procedure using the surgical instrument and generate a second signal comprising a second dataset representative of an infrared image of the surgical instrument. The surgical system further includes a processor configured to receive the first and second signals, identify from the first dataset data representative of the surgical instrument, and identify from the second dataset data representative of one or more regions of the surgical instrument above a predetermined threshold temperature. The processor is also configured to generate a modified image of the surgical instrument based on data identified from the first and second dataset. The modified image includes visible indicia in the one or more region of the surgical instrument at or above the predetermined temperature.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a terminal comprising a main body having an upper surface that is substantially horizontal; a tower extending substantially vertically from said main body, so as to define an acquisition volume delimited by said upper surface and the tower; optical acquisition means arranged within the main body so as to be able to acquire an image of a biometric print placed within the acquisition volume facing the upper surface; a user interface arranged within the tower; wherein the tower has a cavity, and the user interface comprises a screen arranged at the bottom of the cavity and a semi-reflective plate closing the cavity so as to provide the optical illusion that said screen is floating within the acquisition volume. The present invention further relates to a method for acquiring an image of a biometric print by means of the terminal.
