A method and an apparatus for displaying a plurality of different images in a mobile terminal in an external display device and a display unit in various modes. The mobile terminal operates according to a Different Image In and Out (DIIO) mode when the external display device is connected to the mobile terminal. When the external display device is not connected to the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal displays the plurality of different images in the display unit of the mobile terminal by operating according to a Picture-In-Picture (PIP) mode or an Overlay mode, so as to take into consideration size limitations of the display unit of the mobile terminal.

The communications terminal comprises: a playback device which playbacks content; a reading device which reads in access information recorded on a prescribed recording medium, the access information being necessary for downloading the content which can be played back by the playback device, via a network; a communications device which downloads via communications the content corresponding to the access information according to the access information read in; a storage device which stores the downloaded content, the storage device storing details of the access information in association with the content, the details of the access information being used in downloading the content; a judging device which judges whether or not the content corresponding to the read access information is present in the storage device, according to information which is stored in the storage device, when the access information is read in by the reading device; and a control device which controls the playback device, the reading device, the communications device, the storage device, and the judging device, wherein: if the judging device judges that the content is present in the storage device, the control device controls for acquiring the content corresponding to the access information read in from the storage device, and for playing back the content; and if the judging device judges that the content is not present in the storage device, the control device controls for downloading the content corresponding to the access information read in, and for playing back the content.

Methods and system for transferring images between devices are disclosed. For example, differently scaled images by a host device may automatically and/or selectively be transferred to a media player for display. In turn, appropriately scaled images may be transferred automatically and/or selectively to another display device for example a TV, camera or printer. The selectivity may occur either at the host level or at the player level.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for photo management using expression-based voice commands. The method interfaces a photo-image discovery device, having no dedicated display, to a display monitor. Expression-based user voice prompt are received and used to access a photo-image in storage at a storage site. The accessed photo-image is then presented on the display monitor. The photo-image in storage at the storage site can be accessed to perform an operation such as: selecting a storage site, selecting a photo-image, transforming a selected photo-image, converting a file format of a selected photo-image, and selecting a delivery option. In one aspect, a menu of photo-image user prompt options are presented on the display monitor, originating from the photo discovery device, and the expression-based user voice prompts are received in response to the presented menu.

The technique of the present invention ensures flexible image processing that is performed integrally on a plurality of image data.In accordance with the present invention, an image output system enables output of the image data, which is generated in a digital still camera DSC 12, with a color printer 20. The DSC 12 generates an image file, in which the image data, image processing control data and an additional data are stored. The image processing control data, which is preset by the manufacturer, may be specified regarding each image. The additional data is the user-configurable data, which is stored into the DSC. The color printer 20 performs image processing based on the image processing control data and the additional data, which is included in the image file, and outputs the resulting image.

A printing system includes a printer and a portable wireless device coupled to the printer. The printer includes a wireless communication interface. The portable wireless device includes another wireless communication interface coupled to the wireless communication interface of the printer via a wireless link, an edit function module for providing an edit function to edit the electronic image, and a print function module capable of sending a printing request to the printer for printing the image. A printing method executable by the printing system is also disclosed.

Desk lamps comprising a base with a digital photo display screen integrally formed with the base. A movable support is movably connected to the base and supports an illumination portion, e.g. an LED lamp. The illumination portion is preferably movably connected to at least a portion of the support. The base advantageously comprises at least one mass storage device connector and a USB port. The disclosed bases also comprise user controls for controlling the operation of the lamp and the digital photo display screen.

A display control apparatus that makes it easy to recognize a target image when images are displayed in each of regions obtained by dividing a single screen, even when the method for dividing the screen has changed. For example, when the method for dividing the screen in an index view is switched, the post-switch location of a target thumbnail image is calculated based on the ratio between the pre- and post-switch division numbers and the pre-switch location of the target thumbnail image, in both the horizontal and vertical directions. Then, the overall arrangement of the thumbnail images in the index view after the division method switch is determined based on the calculated location of the target thumbnail image.
