Abstract:
A prosthetic heart valve includes a base and a plurality of polymeric leaflets. Each leaflet has a root portion coupled to the base, and each leaflet has an edge portion substantially opposite the root portion and movable relative to the root portion to coapt with a respective edge portion of at least one of the other leaflets of the plurality of leaflets. Each leaflet includes) at least two polymers along at least one portion of the leaflet, and each leaflet has a composition gradient of each of the at least two polymers along at least one portion of the leaflet.

Abstract:
A medical device may include an embolic protection device including a distal filter element, a proximal filter element, and a deflector element disposed between and spacing apart the distal filter element and the proximal filter element. An embolic protection device may include a longitudinally-oriented mouth extending from the distal filter element to the proximal filter element. A method of providing embolic protection in an aortic arch may include inserting a guidewire from a left subclavian artery through the aortic arch into a brachiocephalic artery, deploying a distal filter element within the brachiocephalic artery such that a mouth overlies an ostium of the brachiocephalic artery, deploying a deflector element over an ostium of a carotid artery disposed between the brachiocephalic artery and the left subclavian artery, and deploying a proximal filter element within the left subclavian artery such that a mouth overlies an ostium of the left subclavian artery.
Abstract:
A subintimal recanalization catheter assembly for recanalizing a blood vessel having an occlusion in a lumen thereof. The catheter assembly includes a hub assembly, a catheter shaft including inner and outer tubular members extending distally from the hub assembly, and an expandable structure mounted on a distal portion of the catheter shaft which is configured to be actuated between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration by longitudinal movement of the inner tubular member relative to the outer tubular member. The catheter assembly is configured to be advanced into a subintimal space between adjacent tissue layers of a wall of the blood vessel to facilitate reentry into the blood vessel lumen by advancing a penetration member distally out of the lumen of the inner tubular member and through the a tissue layer into the blood vessel lumen distal of the occlusion.
Abstract:
The disclosure pertains to porous embolic debris diverters comprising a porous diverter element, a support structure therefor, and a non-hollow flexible elongated retrieval element fixedly attached thereto. The disclosure further pertains to delivery systems for the embolic debris diverters comprising a pusher and an elongated sheath as well as methods of use for the porous embolic debris diverters and the delivery systems therefor. The porous embolic debris diverters are adapted to remain within the body for extended periods of time.

Abstract:
A deflective medical device including a catheter shaft having a distal end, and an ablation electrode disposed at the distal end of the catheter shaft. A deflection body is provided within the catheter shaft, and the deflection body includes a longitudinally extending spine. Multiple slots are formed in the deflection body, and the slots define a group of ribs. A flex member is disposed distal to the deflection body, and an intermediate region is defined between the deflection body and the flex member. A deflection mechanism is coupled to the intermediate region, which includes a retaining member, a collar, and a pull wire coupled to the collar.
Abstract:
The disclosure pertains to debris diverters for use within the aorta and methods of diverting or redirecting emboli and other debris away from the carotid arteries to prevent cerebral embolization. The disclosure includes aortic diverters positionable in the ascending aorta in order to divert embolic material of all sizes away from the carotid arteries, thereby washing emboli downstream into the thoracic and peripheral vasculature. The debris diverters of the disclosure are adapted to be placed in the ascending and transverse aorta via the left subclavian artery in order to divert embolic material away from the carotid arteries and methods of use therefor.
