Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of passageways extending through opposite upper and lower surfaces thereof, and a plurality of contacts retained in the corresponding passageways, respectively. The contact includes a main body, a spring arm extending from an upper end of the main body with a contacting section at a free end region thereof, and a tab extending upwardly from the main body for assembling the contact into the corresponding passageway. An auxiliary part extends from a side edge of the main body at an angle with a solder pad at the bottom end for securing a solder ball thereto. The tab is dimensioned to allow a fixture to grasp thereon for applying a downward force thereto during downwardly inserting the contact into the passageway, and is optionally adapted to be removed when the contact is moved to almost the final position.

Abstract: An electrical for connecting an electronic package to a printed circuit board, includes a housing and a plurality of contacts therein. The contacts include grounding contacts and signal contacts mixed with each other. The housing includes an insulative plastic body and a conductive plastic body wherein the insulative plastic body includes a main plate and a plurality of columns extending downwardly from the main plate. Each column forms an insulative retaining passageway for receiving the signal contact. The conductive plastic body includes a block with two opposite top and bottom surfaces, and plurality of conductive retaining passageways for receiving the grounding contacts, and a plurality of receiving cavities for receiving the columns are commonly formed in the conductive plastic body in a mixed manner.

Abstract: A plug for provision of power includes a housing forming a receiving cavity with two opposite sites in a vertical direction which is compatible with a standard plug connector with twelve contacts on each site and a first and second rows of contacts on the sides while in diagonally symmetrical manner. Each contact includes a contacting section, and a connecting section for directly connecting to a corresponding wire. Each row of contacts is categorized with a pair of power contacts, a pair of grounding contacts and a specific contact without any high speed differential pair. Two pair of power contacts of both two rows are electrically connected together either via direct mechanical connection via vertical extensions or via indirect electrical connection via the latch which has a pair of side arms extending into the receiving cavity at two opposite transverse ends.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing having a plurality of passageways arranged in matrix, and a plurality of contacts assembled and retained in the corresponding passageways, respectively. Each contact has a main body, a secondary body sidewardly connected to and angled with the main body. A resilient contacting section upwardly extends from an upper portion of the main body and above the top surface of the housing for contacting an electronic package, and a soldering section extends from a lower portion of the secondary body around the bottom surface of the housing for mounting to a printed circuit board. The main body includes an upper linking part originally linked to an upper carrier, and the secondary body includes a lower linking part which is originally linked to a lower carrier. The main body includes retaining structures for retaining the contact within the passageways without moving.

Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector and a CPU. The electrical connector includes an insulative housing defining a receiving cavity, and a plurality of contacts retained to the housing with corresponding contacting sections exposed in the receiving cavity. A first securing piece is attached upon the CPU, and a second securing piece is attached upon the housing. When the CPU is received within the receiving cavity, the first securing piece is locked with the second securing piece so as to have the CPU retained to the connector in position wherein the corresponding contacts of the electrical connector are mechanically and electrically connected to the corresponding contacting pads of the CPU in a compression manner reliably.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of passageways and a plurality of contacts received therein. The extension and the spring arm are partially overlapped in the vertical direction and results in the capacitance effect therebetween, thus lowering impedance.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of contacts retained therein in matrix wherein all the contacts are of the cantilevered spring arm type for connecting to the conductive pads of the CPU while categorized with at least two different types for performing different functions, i.e., signal transmission or power delivery. The different type may be related to the corresponding dimension/thickness, the configuration/position, the material, and the processing method which alters the mechanical or electrical characters of the contacts, etc. The different type contacts having the contact points initially at different heights while eventually at the same height, is another feature of the invention.

Abstract: A plug connector includes a connector body defining a rear cable supporting platform with opposite first and second surfaces, a plurality of terminals and a cable. The terminal includes a pair of USB 2.0 signal soldering legs, a grounding and power soldering legs exposed to the first surface of the supporting platform and a detecting soldering leg, an additional power and grounding soldering legs exposed to the second surface. Wires of the cable consist of a pair of USB 2.0 signal wires, a power wire, a grounding wire welded with corresponding soldering legs on the first surface. The second surface of the supporting platform is further located with a SMT type resistor with a first leg and a second leg, the first leg is connected with the detecting soldering leg, the second leg is connected with the additional power soldering leg or the additional grounding soldering leg.
