Abstract:
A printer includes: a print performing unit which can change a structure thereof and in which contents of an executable printing process change depending on the structure; an apparatus name information storing unit which stores a plurality of apparatus name information as identification information of the apparatus coordinated with the structure; and a request responding unit for transmitting the apparatus name information coordinated with the structure at that time when a prescribed request is received among the plurality of apparatus name information to an apparatus transmitting the request.
Abstract:
A model-specific database 27 provided on a print control member 11 of a printer stores setting commands for a plurality of print stations, and menu information to be displayed on an operation panel. A maintenance processing member 25 obtains from the model-specific database 27, a menu corresponding to the model ID 251 of the print station, and displays the menu on the operation panel exposed at the printer housing. A maintenance operator carries out adjustment of the print station by operating the operation panel. Since processes and the like depending on the model of the print station are concentrated in the maintenance processing member 25 and the model-specific database 27, other structures of the print control member 11 can be configured so as not to depend on the model of the print station.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus that performs so-called pull printing based on print content defining information specified by a print content defining information name is arranged in such a manner that the user can specify a print condition at the time of printing (the paper size, the resolution, and the number of sets) and that the user can set a pre-selected time for printing.
Abstract:
In a printer having a function of automatically finding out a paper feeder satisfying the condition that the paper size specified in print data and the paper size set in the printer match and then printing, if they match and it is made impossible to find out any paper feeder in which paper remains although print data processing is not complete (paper error state), the user can change the paper size set in the printer and if the paper size is changed to the correct size (print enable state), the printing is continued.
Abstract:
An apparatus capable of utilizing job data or the like stored in other first printer as a first kind printer which is provided with HDD for storing job data at inside thereof and a second kind printer which is not provided with HDD, in which there is prepared an apparatus of not receiving printing instruction of what cannot be printed by its own printer without informing presence thereof to a user and a data sharing printing system is constituted by connecting the apparatus by LAN.
Abstract:
The conventional practice of storing the related information data of format pattern in the hard disk of a computer and storing the image of format pattern in a laser printer has the disadvantage that the one-to-one correspondence between the related information data and the image data is lost if the hard disk of the computer is formatted. This disadvantage is eliminated by registering and storing for unitary control the image data 30b1 of the format pattern, which is superposed over the document 20a1 generated by the computer 20, and the related information data 30b2 in the laser printer 30. In this way it is possible for the printer 20 to use the image data 30b1 stored in the laser printer 30 by reading out the related information data 30b2 from the laser printer 30 even when the hard disk of the computer 20 is formatted or the computer 20 is replaced by another computer 20.
