    Abstract: An apparatus includes processing circuitry that is configured to receive a bitstream including coded information of a current block. The processing circuitry is configured to partition the current block into a first partition and a second partition based on a geometric partition mode (GPM). The processing circuitry is configured to determine a first prediction mode for the first partition based on a first number of direct neighboring reconstructed samples of the current block being larger than a threshold value. The processing circuitry is configured t0, when the first number of direct neighboring reconstructed samples of the current block is less than the threshold value, infer that the first prediction mode is inter prediction mode, a flag indicating whether the current block is intra coded or inter coded not being signaled in the bitstream, and reconstruct the first partition of the current block based on the first prediction mode.

    Abstract: In a method of video decoding performed in a video decoder, coded information of a current block and neighboring blocks of the current block is received from a coded video bitstream. A most probable mode (MPM) list is generated for the current block. The MPM list includes intra modes that are determined based on intra modes of the neighboring blocks of the current block. One of gradient values and cost values of the neighboring blocks are calculated based on the intra modes of the MPM list. The intra modes of the MPM list are sorted based on the one of the gradient values and the cost values of the neighboring blocks, where each of the intra modes in the MPM list is associated with a respective one of the gradient value and the cost value. Further, the current block is reconstructed based on the MPM list.

    Abstract: According to an aspect of the disclosure, a method of video decoding performed in a video decoder is provided. In the method, syntax information of a coding unit (CU) is decoded from a coded video bitstream. The syntax information is signaled in a picture header (PH) and includes chroma quantization parameter (QP) offsets in a PH level. The chroma QP offsets include at least one of a Cb offset, a Cr offset, and a CbCr offset. Further, quantization parameters for the CU are determined based on the chroma QP offsets in the PH level and a quantization parameter range offset of the CU.

    Abstract: One or more intra mode predictors of a current block are determined, where the one or more intra mode predictors are derived based on the neighboring samples of the current block via either a decoder side intra mode derivation (DIMD) or a template-based intra mode derivation (TIMD). Whether a position dependent intra prediction combination (PDPC) is to be applied is determined based on the one or more intra mode predictors. In response to the determining that the PDPC is to be applied, a fusion process is performed on the one or more intra mode predictors to combine the one or more intra mode predictors into a single intra mode predictor. The PDPC is applied based on the single intra mode predictor to generate a modified predictor of the current block. The current block is reconstructed based on the modified predictor generated by the PDPC.

    Abstract: According to an aspect of the disclosure, a method of video decoding performed in a video decoder is provided. In the method, coded information of a current block in a current picture of a video is received from a coded video bitstream. The coded information indicates that the current block is an intra block copy (IBC) block. An intra prediction mode is derived for a subblock of the current block based on a reference subblock in a reference block. The reference subblock corresponds to the subblock of the current block, and the reference block is referenced by a block vector of the IBC block. The intra prediction mode for the subblock of the current block is further stored. A neighboring block of the current block is determined as an IBC block. A most probable mode (MPM) list is constructed for the neighboring block using the stored intra prediction mode.

    Abstract: Coded information of a current block is received. The current block is partitioned into at least a first partition and a second partition based on a geometric partition mode (GPM). A first prediction mode for the first partition of the current block is determined based on a first number of neighboring reconstructed samples adjacent to the first partition being larger than a threshold value. The threshold value corresponds to availability of at least one intra prediction mode for the GPM. In response to the first number of neighboring reconstructed samples adjacent to the first partition being smaller than the threshold value, a flag indicating whether the current block is intra coded or inter coded is determined not to be included in the coded information. The first prediction mode is inferred as inter prediction mode. The first partition of the current block is reconstructed based on the first prediction mode.

The method also includes performing intra prediction on each of the image slices, and encoding the picture based on the intra prediction and according to the one of the Main 10 still picture profile or the Main 4:4:4 10 still picture profile to form the coded video bitstream.
