    Abstract: A crystal oscillator and an oscillating device are provided. The crystal oscillator includes a resonator, a low-thermal conductivity glue, an integrated circuit chip, and a heating element. In the resonator, a crystal blank is hermetically encapsulated. The low-thermal conductivity glue wraps the resonator to suppress temperature variation in the resonator. The integrated circuit chip is disposed below the resonator, and the heating element is configured to supply heat to the resonator.

    Abstract: A circuit device includes an oscillation circuit configured to cause a resonator to oscillate, a clock signal output circuit configured to output a clock signal based on an oscillation signal from the oscillation circuit, a temperature compensation circuit configured to perform temperature compensation on an oscillation frequency of the oscillation signal, a low-potential-side power supply pad to which low-potential-side electric power is supplied, a high-potential-side power supply pad to which high-potential-side electric power is supplied, and an inter-power-supply capacitor provided between a low-potential-side power supply line electrically continuous with the low-potential-side power supply pad and a high-potential-side power supply line electrically continuous with the high-potential-side power supply pad. The inter-power-supply capacitor is formed of at least two metal layers provided in a region where the temperature compensation circuit is disposed in a plan view.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a mechanical resonator in an electronic oscillator, comprising determining a state space description of the resonator, in which state variables are the mass, the stiffness or dimensions of components used in the crystal resonator; providing a table with frequency correction factors as a function of a state space of a resonator; finding a frequency correction factor corresponding to the determined state space; and multiplying the output frequency of the resonator with the correction factor, and to an electronic oscillator, comprising a mechanical resonator, wherein an output frequency of the oscillator is multiplied by a frequency correction factor, the frequency correction factor being obtained from determination of the state variables of the resonator, in particular dominant mechanical state variables.
