Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and a terminal for collecting traffic information are provided to minimize data loss and communication costs by combining communication between vehicles with communication between a vehicle and roadside equipment. CONSTITUTION: In a method and a terminal for collecting traffic information, a source vehicle generates traveling data by each section. Each neighboring traffic information is updated based on traveling data which a forward direction vehicle behind the source vehicle receives.
