Abstract: Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes receiving a downlink signal comprising an uplink access configuration index, using the uplink access configuration index to identify an uplink access configuration from among a predetermined plurality of uplink access configurations, and transmitting to the wireless communications network according to the identified uplink access configuration. The example method further includes, in the same wireless device, receiving, in a first downlink subframe, a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing, OFDM, transmission formatted according to a first numerology and receiving, in a second downlink subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology, the second numerology differing from the first numerology, where the first numerology has a first subcarrier spacing and the second numerology has a second subcarrier spacing, the first subcarrier spacing differing from the second subcarrier spacing. The example method further includes, in the same wireless device, receiving and processing first Layer 2 data on a first physical data channel and receiving and processing second Layer 2 data on a second physical data channel, wherein the receiving and processing of the first Layer 2 data comprises the use of soft HARQ combining and wherein the receiving and processing of the second Layer 2 data comprises no soft HARQ combining. Variants of this method, corresponding apparatuses, and corresponding network-side methods and apparatuses are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method and a wireless device (110) for managing an EPS bearer, a method and a radio base station(120) for setting parameters of an S1 bearer or an Iu bearer as well as a method and a second network node (150) for managing an EPS bearer are disclosed. The wireless device (110) sends, to the second network node (150), a request for setting up the EPS bearer for a service. The request is associated with a required level of a connectivity for the service. The required level relates to likelihood of maintaining the connectivity towards a first network node (140). The second network node (150) further receives the required level of the connectivity for the service. The second network node (150) sends, to a radio base station(120), a request for setting parameters of the S1 bearer or the Iu bearer. Corresponding computer programs and computer program products are also disclosed.

Abstract: A technique of configuring link layer entities for a handover is described. In a method embodiment, the technique includes receiving from a recipient of protocol data units a supplemental status report for an existing ARQ connection in context with an imminent handover, determining service data units corresponding to buffered protocol data units taking into account information included in the supplemental report, and transferring the determined service data units to a link layer entity which is to establish a new ARQ connection to the recipient. The forced status synchronisation that is based on the supplemental report prevents the transfer of service data units that have already been successfully received at the recipient.

Abstract: A network node (110) and a method therein for managing radio, resources are disclosed. The radio resources are dedicated for beacon (121, 122) signaling, fey a first device; (131) and a second device (132), in conjunction with device-to-device, "D2D", discovery. The first device: (131) is stationary and the second device (132) is non-stationary. The network node (110) selects (202) a first and a second set of radio resources out of the radio resources. The first arid second sets are dedicated for beacon signaling by the first device (131) and the second device (132), respectively. The first set of radio resources Is non-overlapping with the second set of radio resources. Then the network node (110) schedules (203) a specific radio resource of the first set of radio resources to the first device (131). Next, the network node (110) sends (204) information about the scheduled specific radio resource to the first device (131). The network node (110) further sends (205) information about the second set of radio resources to the second device (132). In this manner, the second device (132) restricts Us radio resources usable for beacon signaling to the second set of radio resources.

A second such criterion used is to maximize the number of SNs included in an S-PDU of limited size.
