    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound capable of giving thermosetting resins having moldability and processability sufficient for practical use, with excellent heat resistance, in high yield and purity, by reacting a polyamine with a specific amount of an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride. CONSTITUTION:One or two or more types of unsaturated dicarboxylic acids, e.g. maleic or itaconic anhydride, of the formula (Z is organic group having a carbon- carbon double bond) are reacted with one or two or more types of polyamines having two or more amino groups in the molecule on the average, e.g. m- or p- phenylene-diamine, in an amount of 1.01-1.30 moles per equivalent of the amino group of the polyamine in the presence of a dehydrating agent, e.g. butyric anhydride, and a dehydration and cyclization catalyst, e.g. cobalt acetate, in a solvent, e.g. acetone, to give the title compound.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound, a raw material for thermosetting resins having improved heat resistance and dimensional stability, in high purity, by newtralizing a polymaleimide precipitated from a reaction mixture of a maleic anhydride and a polyamine with a basic compound, and by separating and washing the polymer. CONSTITUTION:Water is added solwly to a reaction mixture obtained by reacting maleic anhydride with a primary polyamine, e.g. m- or p-phenylenediamine, in an organic solvent, e.g. dimethylformamide, in the presence of a dehydrating agent, e.g. acetic anhydride, and a catalyst to deposit a solid polymaleimide, which is separated and suspended in an aqueous medium. A basic compound, e.g. aqueous ammonia or lithium hydroxide, is added to the suspension thus obtained to adjust pH 7-10, and the polymaleimide is isolated and washed. EFFECT:Ready removal of impurities and uniform particle sizes.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain an integral-skin polyurethane foam improved in productivity, moldability touch, blistering resistance, puncture resistance by pouring a reaction mixture comprising an aromatic polyisocyanate, a high-molecular-weight isocyanato-reactive compound, a specified blowing agent and other adjuvants into a mold. CONSTITUTION: An aromatic polyisocyanate (A), a high-molecular-weight isocyanato-reactive compound (B) having an OH value of 24-55mgKOH/g, an ethylene oxide content of 10-25wt.% and a terminal OH value rate of 70-95mol%, a blowing agent (C) comprising 10wt.% or below, based on component B, boric acid and/or its ester, or a mixture thereof with an organic carboxylic acid and/or its ester, a catalyst and optionally a crosslinking agent, a foam stabilizer and other adjuvants are mixed with each other, and the obtained mixture is poured into a mold and left standing to obtain a molding of a density of 0.3-0.8g/cm .

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title resin which is useful in parts for electric or electronic appliances because it is melt-moldable and shows excellent heat resistance, dimensional stability and mechanical properties by polycondensation reaction between a specific diamine and an aromatic tricarboxylic monoacid halide under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:The polycondensation reaction between 4,4'-bis[4-(4-aminoalpha,alpha- dimethylbenzyl)phenoxy]diphenylsulfone and/or bis[4-(4-amino-alpha,alpha-dimethylbenzyl) phenoxy]diphenylsulfone of formula I [X is -O-, -C(CH3)2] and an aromatic tricarboxylic monoacid halide is carried out in the presence of a dehydrohalogenating agent such as triethylamine in an organic solvent such as DMF at a temperature lower than 60 deg.C to give the objective resin of formula II (X is aromatic condensed polycyclic ring group of 14 or less carbon atoms; n is 1 to 1,000). 100 pts.wt. of the resin and 5 to 100 pts.wt. of a fiber-reinforcing agent are used to give an aromatic polyamide-imide resin composition.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyimide copolymer containing two kinds of specific repeating units in specified amounts, respectively, in the polymer molecule and excellent in melt flowability, flexibility. etc. CONSTITUTION:This copolymer contains 50-99 (equivalent) pts. of repeating units of formula I and 50-1 pts. of repeating units of formula II and/or is composed of aromatic rings substantially not having substituents at the ends of the polymer or substituted with groups not having reactivity with dicarboxylic acids or amines. The copolymer is produced e.g. by reacting a compound of formula III and a compound of formula IV as an aromatic diamine component with a compound of formula V and/or a compound of formula VI (Z is a divalent group such as 6-15C aliphatic group or alicyclic group) (e.g. phthalic anhydride), etc., in an amount of 0.001-1.0 mole (per mole of the compounds of formulas III and IV) and subsequently thermally or chemically imidating the produced polyamic acid.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystalline polyimide having low dielectric constant, excellent heat-resistance and processability and useful for electric and electronic parts, etc., by imidating a polyamic acid produced by the reaction of a specific aromatic diamine with a specific tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride. CONSTITUTION:The polyimide consisting of the recurring structural unit of formula III and having a logarithmic viscosity of 0.01-3.0dl/g can be produced by reacting an aromatic diamine composed mainly of 1,3-bis[4-(4-amino-6- trifluoromethylphenoxy)-alpha,alpha-dimethylbenzyl]benzene of formula I with a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride expressed mainly by formula II (R is 2-27C tetravelent group such as aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, monocyclic aromatic and condensed polycyclic aromatic group) and thermally or chemically imidating the obtained polyamic acid.
