Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly increase the influence of a coupling rate on light guide power and further to make coupling rate characteristics optically bistable by providing a light guide grating which is patterned on a 1st linear light guide formed on a nonlinear light guide and a 2nd linear light guide formed at a specific interval with the 1st light guide grating. SOLUTION: The whole coupler consists of three light guide layers. As the bottom part, a nonlinear light guide 11 is formed of a nonlinear thin film with tertiary linearity. The refractive index n1 of the nonlienar light guide 11 is represented as n1 =n0 +a|E| (a: nonlinear coefficient) and varies as the power of traveling light varies. On the bottom part, a 1st linear light guide 12 is formed which has a larger refractive index n2 than the refractive index n1 of a nonlinear light guide 11 by coupling with the nonlinear light guide 11 and on it, a grating 13 is formed. Further, a 2nd light guide 14 is formed as the top part at the constant interval S with the light guide grating 13.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation information apparatus, for helicopter navigation, by which the navigation stability of a helicopter is made maximum by a method wherein a navigation route, a separation distance and a safe altitude are presented visually by using a present position, a present altitude which are received from a global positioning system and by using input topographical information and to provide its control method. SOLUTION: An apparatus is constituted of a GPS receiving antenna 1 which receives a GPS signal to be sent from an artificial satellite and of a GPS reception part 2 in which the GPS signal received by the GPS receiving antenna 1 is processed so as to detect position information. In this case, the apparatus is composed of storage parts 3, 4, 5 which store data about a map, an altitude and a position, of an input part 8 which inputs data required for the route setting operation and and the navigation of a helicopter, of a control part 6 in which the position data received by the GPS reception part is compared with the data on the map and the altitude so as to be judged on the basis of the route to be set by the input part 8 and in which navigation data on a safe distance, a separation distance or the like is created, of a display part 7 in which the navigation data by the control part 6 is presented to a pilot and of a navigation-information storage part 9 which records the navigation data permanently.

SOLUTION: A program number is sought from a program combination table 21 and a packet number of a receiver control message 28 and the message itself are extracted. Numbers of a public telephone network and a public data network are extracted from the receiver control message, a network information table 24 is sought from a receiver and a packet number of an event information table is sought from a configuration identifier of an event information table 27. An identifier 27A of video reservation recording is inserted in the event information table 27 and video recording is reserved. A program price information identifier 27B is inserted to the event information table 27 so as to deliver the program price information and a caption information identifier 27C is inserted in the event information table 27 to provide caption information before the program is viewed.

SOLUTION: An nB2P encoder divides inputted parallel data into a fixed data unit, converts data that is encoded by adding an odd parity to each divided data unit and a block synchronizing signal that is set by preliminarily making the encoded data perform code violation into serial data through a selection signal and outputs it. The nB2P encoder detects a block synchronizing signal by using a code violation pattern that is preliminarily set, converts encoded data into parallel data through a byte timing, detects an error of encoded data by checking an odd parity and decodes it into original data by eliminating the parity.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize a junction leakage current by electrically isolating a channel region and a stray region using an insulator wall and to enhance the reliability of an element by suppressing the generation of an abnormal current due to impact ionization. SOLUTION: A wall of silicon dioxide electric insulator 44 is formed between a channel region 41 and a stray region 42. Since a part 41a for forming a p-n junction is not present on surfaces other than the surface of the channel region 41 and the stray region 42, leakage current is minimized and ionization through initial collision is prevented. Furthermore, a passage of current flowing into a source 47 is blocked by the insulator 44, and generation of ions due to secondary collisions in the stray region 42 and increase of abnormal current can be suppressed. According to the structure, operational reliability of an element can be enhanced.

Since the critical power of the thin films 2, 12 depends upon the thickness of the thin films 2, 12, a propagation distance up to diffraction can be changed by the power of light.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make low the density of the state of a surface energy in a metal- semiconductor optical element to raise the absorption efficiency of light of the optical element by a method wherein a group V element being contained in a monatomic layer is formed as a surface active layer between a semiconductor substrate and a metal layer. SOLUTION: An insulating film 13 is formed on a semiconductor substrate 11 and thereafter, one part of the film 13 is removed and a group V element is deposited on the exposed surface of the substrate 11 as a surface active agent to form thin a surface active layer 10 in the extent of a single atom. A metal thin film 12 is formed on the layer 10 and moreover, after an antireflection film 14 is formed on the thin film 12, electrodes 15, which are electrically linked to the thin film 12, are formed at the side parts of the film 14 and a rear electrode 16 is formed on the rear surface of the substrate 11. Thereby, a dangling bond on the surface of the semiconductor substrate is effectively removed by an single atomic layer consisting of the group V element on the substrate 11, a surface trapping effect due to the state of the surface energy between band gaps is decreased to facilitate the removal of the dangling bond on the element, the state of the surface energy between unnecessary band gaps is decreased and the absorption efficiency of light of the element can be raised.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offset the unbalanced distribution of light in the longitudinal direction of a resonator by modulating the gain of an active area in the longitudinal direction in the same period as that of ion implantation by means of an ion- implanted area. SOLUTION: After ions are implanted into an area by using an insulating film and a photoresist as a mask and the photoresist and insulating film are removed, the front and rear surfaces of an element are coated with Si3 N4 insulating films and the insulting films are heat-treated at a high temperature so as to insulate the ion-implanted area. Then secondary crystal growth is performed in the order of a GaInP clad layer 17, a GaInAsP buffer layer 18, and GaAs 19 for forming ohmic contact. Then, after the insulating films are removed, the entire surfaces of etched ridges are coated with Si3 N4 , etc., and, after forming current injecting ports at the upper ends of the ridges, p-side electrodes 22 are formed by vapor deposition. Therefore, the gain of an active layer in the longitudinal direction can be modulated in the same period as that of the ion implantation by means of the ion-implanted area.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost circuit by operating a negotiation violation detection circuit for virtual connection to pertinent connection for which the cell of a specified connection is inputted. SOLUTION: A cell counting means 3 receives reception, abandonment and tags in input, counts reception cells and violation cells and stores them in a first storage means 1 for storing a traffic parameter, a variable and the value of cell counting for each connection. A negotiation violation detection means 4 detects the cells exceeding a negotiated traffic rate and an input cell filtering means 5 provides a cell length error detection function and a cell slot mode. Then, an output cell filtering means 7 receives a negotiation violation result in the input, is connected to a CPU matching means 2 while receiving cell data from a second storage means 6 for storing cell data to the input, controls abandonment and tag operations as a measure for a negotiation violation and outputs the reception, the abandonment and the tag to the cell counting means 3.
