Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of flexible, elastic mouldings containing urethane groups having a compacted peripheral zone and a cellular core by reacting a) organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates with b) at least one relatively high-molecular-weight compound containing at least two reactive hydrogen atoms and optionally c) low-molecular-weight polyhydric alcohols and/or low-molecular-weight polyoxyalkylene-polyols, in the presence of d) an internal mould release agent comprising A) from 0.1 to 12% by weight, based on the total weight of (b) or (b) and (c), of a mixture comprising i) from 60 to 90 parts by weight of at least one organic amine, ii) from 10 to 40 parts by weight of at least one ketimine and iii) from 20 to 95 parts by weight of at least one metal salt of stearic acid, and B) from 0.01 to 32% by weight, based on the total weight of (b) or (b) and (c), of at least one organic mono- and/or dicarboxylic acid or carboxylic anhydride thereof, and e) catalysts, f) blowing agents, and optionally g) auxiliaries and/or additives, in a closed mould with compaction, and to the internal mould release agents which are suitable for this purpose.

Abstract: Reinforced cellular or noncellular molded polyurethane parts are prepared by heating a mixture of reinforcing materials and a heat-curable composition of polyisocyanates and polyols in an open or closed mold, said composition being storage-stable at room temperature and containing, optionally, auxiliaries and additives. In said composition, the polyisocyanate is dispersed in the form of discreet particles having particle diameters from 0.1 to 150 mu m in the polyol and the polyisocyanate particles are deactivated on their surfaces such that from 0.01 to 20 equivalent percent of the total available isocyanate groups are deactivated and such that the ratio of free isocyanate groups to hydroxyl groups is from 0.7:1 to 2.5:1. The polyurethane molded parts are suitable for use as self-supporting trim parts, reinforcement parts, or molded parts for various applications.
